In EaW that depends on your nation. 7/2 are better overall. But if your nation doesnt have any special artillery based advisors or focuses you might find it better to go with just infantry and support companies. It also depends on the nations you got against you. Facing off against most minors with pure 20 width infantry is not a great idea to say the least.
