City Colonies
I've been playing with a "colony" I made using the spawn in a friendly city scenario that comes stock for about 2 in game weeks. It's been fun, having the buildings already made for me, trying to find a good blend between building with room to fill and with space to garden, and running caravans to camp site for resources. There are, however, a few notes I would like to make on both areas for improvement and just useful little bits.

1. Food Shortages - while food for my colonists was never an issue (found a good spot with plenty of nice gardening space), by the time 2 weeks had passed the city had probably a third its starting population due pretty much solely to starvation. That and the berserker mental breaks that starvation caused. I always found it kinda odd that there was plenty of wildlife for my colonists to hunt (and I had them do so regularly), and a good few forageable plants growing, and yet there were always malnourished citizens running around. Either way, increasing food supplied via airdrops might be a good idea.
2. Fire - the cities are completely incapable of deal with fires. In order to avoid complete destruction, I would regularly have to send out my colonists to stop fires started by storms or pyromaniacs. Perhaps adding some form of fire extinguishing capabilities to the AI could help?
3. Door Locks - this comes from a separate mod, but I found the ability to lock the citizens out of my buildings (mostly the starving bums don't steal all my food) very useful. Not a request or anything for this mod, but a useful thing to have if you plan on doing something similar to me.
4. Item Stealing - a small workaround I discovered - and this may be the fault of another mod - is that if you tell your colonist to add an item to a pack animal, it does not count as stealing. Just something to look into for balance's sake.

Overall, it has been an enjoyable game mode, and I do intend on continuing to play. Thanks so much for making this mod! :steamhappy:

the city ai seem to be very underdeveloped from what ive seen in the little time ive spent in a city. i got a call that a nearby friendly city was being besieged by pirates and wanted my support. i went of course, because the reward would be in the 27THOUSAND silver range, but once i was there, it was basically only my colonists attacking the raiding parties while the city denizens just kept walking around, not HELPING AT ALL except for when they get mauled by lazer swords and flamethrower mechanoids. i didnt even last one raid party because of the ai not doing anything with me.

so much for supporting them against a raid, they didnt even help me and it was their own city.
i lost around 7 colonists that day.
