Or maybe a flare gun/shotgun hybrid, alt-fire to change modes? I dunno.

instead of a flare shoots a big flaming shell
this can be used to create small traps which light people on fire when they walk over it.
shells are a bit bigger than flares which makes it easier to hit targets.
when shells land on the ground they wont disappear for the next 5 seconds.
+20% more damage.
does not crit on burning players.
a lot more heavy than normal (so instead of going straight like a flare, travels kind of like a grenade but with a lot less distance.)
