stats
what im thinking is that it should act as the default flare gun, but when you taunt it shoots up and makes a large signal flare and it puts an arrow pointing towards where you taunted on other players screens.

I know it still needs to be troll-nurfed or whatever you call it, so here you go:

(note: this may mess with your head)

*only up to 3 arrows can be on the screen at a time
*yes, the arrow is quite small and does not screw up the players view; kinda like when you play medic and someone calls for you
*no sound is created when the arrow pops up
*there is kinda like a refresh, and a bar appears on the bottom of your screen to tell you when you can actually give off the arrow (the bar is kinda like the scouts madmilk; when its full, you getchya madmilk). you can still spam the taunt, and people will still see the flare in the distance, but it will not effect the player in any way.

If you have any other ways of making it delfy-proof, say so! :D

I think it could have +20% damage and +30% afterburn time, but -40% ammo and +20 projectile drop (Hits the ground faster) Basically a flaming shotgun.

thats really overpowered. any damage increase (even 1%) will render every other gun in its path worthless. even if you set it to the worst stats ever, it will still outwin the other flareguns.

It should act as a flare gun (clip size of 1, passive reload, etc.) but still fires like a shotgun (no flares). If all pellets hit, it mini-crits and ignites the target(s).

Or maybe a flare gun/shotgun hybrid, alt-fire to change modes? I dunno.

ok, its an old school flare gun. No shotguns (just no....) It should act simmilar to the scorch shot, but have slower projectile speed (30%-45%) and a wider blast radius (15%-25%). The rest of the stats the same.

if it has more damage then it should not do critical hits on a second hit wich means that it will be useless(everyone uses the flare gun for crits) so it would be cool if it has its own mark on the player.Something special about it.Like shooting out more flares without reloading,but slower reloading that would be good,and 45 damage on second hit as a crit,it could have 3 flares without reloading wich may be OP but less afterburn damage and less damage on hit.Totally broken just like the flare gun only more fun :D

WAIT A MINUTE!!!! why hasn't anyone ever thought of a fire-igniting shotgun? (just like in left 4 dead 2 when you grab incindiary ammo)
Stats:
+ Hold fire to load up to (3-4) flares at a time in the barrel

+ Release to shoot out all (3-4) flares at once

+ Flares have knockback (Knockback decreases the farther the flares go)

+ (Hidden) +(70-80)% faster firing speed

- Overloading the chamber causes all flares to shoot out at once

- 3 degrees random projectile deviation

- (Hidden) (15-30)% slower reload speed

- (Hidden) No extra damage on burning players

Alternative Stats:

+ Flares have knockback (Knockback decreases the farther the flares go)

+ (Hidden) Flares allow the user to jump (Either like the detonator or the Force A' Nature)

- (Hidden) No extra damage on burning targets

- (15-25)% slower firing speed

OR

- (15-25)% slower reloading speed

how about a loose cannon-like mechanic where it explodes after a given time period with an increaced damage output

instead of a flare shoots a big flaming shell

this can be used to create small traps which light people on fire when they walk over it.
shells are a bit bigger than flares which makes it easier to hit targets.
when shells land on the ground they wont disappear for the next 5 seconds.
+20% more damage.

does not crit on burning players.
a lot more heavy than normal (so instead of going straight like a flare, travels kind of like a grenade but with a lot less distance.)
-20% afterburn damage.

I think like jarate where it douses an enemy in gasoline and makes them afterburn longer. Or something of the sort.
(this looks like a hybrid between the baby face's blaster, the loose canoon and the flare gun)

+10% speed on wearer *deployed or not*
+25% kockback

- randomly explodes 3-5 seconds after firing
- has a 50% chance to fail when you fire
- does not explode on impact, only on timer.
+ blast damage as large as sticky bomb
+ can set pyros on fire
+ after failing to fire next shot has 2x as much of a chance to random crit

thank you, look at the model this guy made, that cup thing is a flare, in case you didn't know. You really wanna trash that work? didn't think so. don't make it a shotgun

My stats

Sneeze gun
*load up to 3 flares | +2 random projectile deviation when more than one flare loaded | no ammo can be loaded early | Wearer will take 10 damage for every flare loaded (the flares dissipate so dont try flare flying and expect to shoot people simultaneously) over 3 and will recieve self knockback (basically like a beggar's but less projectile spread)
*20% faster projectile speed
*30% less flare drop
*25% slower reload speed
*33% more damage(40 damage flares)
*75% less afterburn damage(totaling up to 20 damage over 10 seconds)
(no crit or minicrit on burning players)

*16% less damage(25 damage flares)
*25% less afterburn damage(totaling up to 40 damage over 10 seconds)
*100% less flare drop(no flare drop)
