Yes lets force our clients to download thousands of files... great idea. Let me know your server IP so I know what server not to join.
Actually, it'll just download the .gma file, and it'll do it from Steam itself. Previously getting the client to download lots of files was slow because it happened directly from the game server, but it's super-fast now. And the addons that get downloaded due to connecting via multiplayer won't be active on your singleplayer games (unless you enable them to be so).
