Well, first a question. Are they only foxtaurs as they appear, or do they include other types of taurs on their homeworld? Will you ever do classic centaurs or say gryphon type taurs? More important though is if these types exist on their homeworld, because this gives me the basis of an idea on their lore.

Here's a thought-- they were either some sort of genetic experiment gone wrong, OR a failed attempt at de-extinction from human genetic contamination-- mishandled by someone in the lab. (I'm kind of partial to the latter myself, but that's just me.)

(Whenever you get to a decision, I can help with writing or editing/grammar checks, by the way. Just thought I'd offer.)

Kinda reminds me of the glitch but so far nobody has really done it with genetic experiments. If the glitch were a result of something like this why wouldn't the same species try it with organic species?

The species who made the glitch made the glitch and not these taurs due to them likely not knowing how to clone creatures. Although, they made the glitch be able to reproduce.

Well, technically, Taurs are furry related. there are taur fursonas. BUT i dont call this race furry. i dont call any starbound race furry because the game already has avians hylotl and apex by default. hylotl being fish people. and all mod races are some sort of animal or thing one way or another. so i dont classify stabound race mods as furry.

i decided this needed to be suggested since this came to mind as i was playing this exotic and adorible taur-race
FU frackin races support templete idea

Food-type: {Primal-Omnivorous} or just Omnivorous if the below idea is not that great @.@
(just an idea on the food-type: since really i had an idea where they could eat anything but only gained energy and run speed from eating raw veges and increased the health to the 15% mark
when eating raw meat and cant eat metalic foods)

Perks:
+10% ~ (15% Health cap when eating meat)
+20% energy cap
+28% Jump, +8% Speed

Tech: momentumic jump: enbles wall jumping
(just an idea since animals when running do jump better)
Alt tech: armament lugger: +armor by 25 for race specific armor*
(1* this was incase the other race tech wasn't really that good @.@ )
Resists:
+10% Ice resistence , +20% fall damage resistence
+40% Cosmic resistence, +5% Aether resistence

Immune:
Air push, Mud, Heat (reason cuz i was thinking the rear hind legs can help resist the pushing of heavy gusts of wind)

Enviroment: savana/lush enviroments grants: boosted armor

Weapons:
Polearm/spear: 8% attack speed, +7.5% defence when guarding
ShortSpear and shield: +13% sheild health, +2.0 Crit chance
2x 1h machine guns: 3% fire rate, 5% reload speed, -5% running when weilding them
Sniper Rifle: +25% crit when crouched, -10% reload speed

Weaknesses:
-25% Radiation, -8% Darkness, -20% Plasma
-25% energy regen
+50% stomach, +18% Hunger rate (can eat more but at the cost of eating more food to feel full)

I am reading all of this, I just haven't felt like I had anything worthwhile to say.

As for stats, I don't know enough about balance (so my suggestions are more about what feeeels right)

I like the idea of them being omnis, makes sense to me.

My concern about wall jumping is the animation might look odd.

I gotta say, them being about spears feels right. I imagine that they could get some serious speed that would make spearing a good choice.

I agree they would get more hungry. lol

Again I leave stats to those who are more familiar but the bits I've said, I like.

Id bet that a taurikin could probably get the speed to get a spear stuck into a head or throw a spear farther than any normal spear would. Also if your concerned about the animation for the wall jumping. Then what about increased speed?
