So the first time I played with this mod, I found a chestnut tree near my settlement. I remember harvesting it and getting the nuts from it.

However, on subsequent playthroughs, I cannot for the life of me figure out how I did it.
When I go to harvest a fruit tree, the hearthlings just go and cut it down instead of getting the fruit from it.
Is there some point in time where they are ripe, meaning I'm harvesting too early, or is this a glitch from a recent ACE update?

EDIT: The fruits and nuts are visible and on the tree before I attempt to harvest them.

[SOLUTION]: I was harvesting unripe fruit and nuts. Chestnuts do have stages of growth, harvestable when they have a dark brown bottom. not sure about apples, but when they're red, they're edible it seems.
