They would have to make new animations from scratch. As far as I'm aware, there are no one handed animations in arma that can be reused. The same goes for other species, they would have to rig from zero.

I think I've heard that there was some mod for a Russian weapons pack that used one handed pistol animations for some of their pistols, I might be wrong I just think it would be neat to see
