Smiting?
I have no idea what smite does.

Smite is a polite way to say - the colonist sleeps with the fishes. Term from the Bible.

Would it be possible to maybe add mod config options for how close together the deaths can happen, or increse that minimum number? I lose 100+ colonists in my current playthrough each time the deaths happen and now it just happened only 3 days apart from each other, not sure if I will be able to come back from this, lol.

That seems excessive. Deaths waves are very random, you just got unlucky with the random generator hitting you so often.
I want to avoid mod config for any mods I can. relying on a mod I dont control is asking for trouble. I'm developing my own version just in case.

What I will do is take a a look at putting in a "not before" minimum for when the death waves are calculated so they dont seem so back to back.
BTW the amount is random too. How many colonists do you have?

I had between 3500 and 3600 after the second wave of deaths.

Holy Crap. I would love to get a copy of that save. Post it here if you dont mind sharing ...

No matter what I do 5% of 3600 is a big number. Even if random.
What I am going to need to do is set some sort of sliding scale for folks like yourself that play like a city builder, way past end game. I'll need your save to test.

Done, this is my biggest colony yet lol, I have a goal of depleting every resource on the map. I have had to switch my game to low graphics and I can't scroll out to the map overview without crashing!

Thanks, saw it come through. I'll be using your game to also test the v2 of Shuttle Reservation System, which includes a new AI for Shuttles. So far in initial tests I lowered the Shuttles' CPU use by making them smarter about the decisions they make.

very nice!

Quirquie, Let me know if the current parameters in Martian Death makes death waves better in your 3600 colonists colony.
Quirquie 24 Sep, 2018 @ 1:02pm
It is up to 4200 now. I haven't had much time to play, I will let you know as soon as the next death wave happens. The one I just had last time I played was 125, but am getting in game now finally.

I'm sorry I never got back to you, a mod I was using bugged my colony and I just have not been able to get one back up to that size.
