Herculean Supercharged Resonant Cascade Causing Crash?

Just used the supercharged resonant cascade on my herculean for the first time. Looked cool and seemed to work just fine. But, when it spreads to the next system, the game freezes and crashes. Is there any way to prevent the crash other than just not using it? And is this a known issue?

I have this problem too!! I think its due to the system it is spreading to, that has a habitat, because that is exactly where it froze for me. (Mine wasn't even supercharged.) I just don't know how to submit a bug report for it.
