Italy.., man!
I have not played Italy in a looong time, with vanilla or mods. So I am unsure where Italy is at right now in HOI 4. I figured I would try them in BICE to see how things are. MAN, they are so handicapped/trashed on so many areas. I am in late 1938 and I am going to stay with them for a little while longer, but am I missing something.., is there some late game focus or event that changes the game with them?

A long time ago I used to be able to make Italy do great things.., in vanilla.

Invest primarily in navy. Do not build CAS or TAC, just naval bombers and fighters. Use your remaining military industry to just build infantry to hold the line.
I am only able to to hold the line in Libya and conquer my claims in the Balkans in 1940-1941. By late 1941 my naval buildup gets to the point I am able to beat the British in the Mediterranean. With naval superiority, I can naval invade anywhere and cut off supply lines for the allies. I usually conquer Egypt, Sudan, and the Middle East by 1942-1943. After that, I try to help Germany.
