Here, I'd like to begin a discussion forum regarding feedback for Elite's Conflict Mod.

Please be respectful in this forum but critical analysis and constructive criticism are welcome.

Issues and suggestions we are aware of:

1. Issues with the Imperial Star Destroyer and Acclamator-II hardpoints.
2. Population values may need to be adjusted.
3. More units and maps, dynamic maps.
4. Updated particle effects.
5. Complete CSA faction (more droid and galactic republic tech).
6. Lighting issues on bottom of ISD II model?

Here's some feedback (Sorry if my english grammar is terrible)

1. Details and model / texture

You have some the best made texture and mindblowing models of every ship ive ever seen in a mod with great turret layouts and details.

I also really like that you guys understand the importance of every ship having rotating turrets.

Nothing is more immersion breaking than watching giant space ships fire giant laser beams out of thin air...

Also i love that you almost dont have serveral different models and texture mashed into unit rosters. You only have some few ones from the vong at war which dont stand out that much from your own work.

2. Unit roster

I love that you dont go crasy and add ever single ship from lore and legends like some other mods.. at some point when playing mods, you lose track of the ships roles.. if you know what i saying.

Fx. Nomada firefox mod have sooo many units that u lose interest in half of them.. and composing your fleets gets unbearable..

Its also nice that corvettes, frigates is still and option when composing fleets.. and u dont feel the urge to just spam ISD's

3. Issues

The only one's worth of notice, are the one you mention yourself, and the home one not having engine particles.

4. Maps

I know its just a demo. but the maps are too small and their arent that much to chose from.


Now for some suggestion

1. Add Megabalta mindblowing particles for explosions and fires. It really makes the game feel more intense in combat.

Or if u have some know how in particles change the fire to the dmg taken on units hardpoints look from star wars battlefront 2 if possible. It looks really nice with the glowing/burning metal parts. You would also be the first mod to add this instead of fire and smoke.

2. Make death clones for every large capital ship, when they get destroyed. It goes without saying that it adds flawor to the action. Instead of the ships just going PuuFF! hehe

3. I dont know your stand on adding giant super star destroyers, but i personally hate them since the game engine have a hard time handling them. But if u decide to add some plz consider sticking to the likes of the mediator for rebellion and preator for the empire, those two seems douable without killing the rosters and actual add something that don'st offset balance like and executor or eclipse.

4. CSA faction unit roster

Id love to see the munificent and providence with turrets and your texture, plus they would act as a decent frigate and capital ship role. Munificent for firepower and providence for carrier. And maybe the lucrehulk for some late game power creep. It would also make sense that these ships where accesble by the Cooperate sector.

The awesome invinceble unit you guys made would also make a nice addon looks like a nice brawler being able to fly in and out of engagement and taking lots of dmg.

I dunno my lore about the CSA faction so i dunno if they used imperial ships.. but i would hate to have a feeling that the faction just copy the imperial unit roster.

For more ships ever thought about the CSA using mercenaries? Maybe some mandalorian units ? the Keldalbe or Kendosii

They could maybe also buy Hapan units like the battle dragon or Nova cruiser

5. Maps

Try and talk to the EAW remake mod team, they really made a good call going with Aotr maps design. The maps are large and make manouvering ships pleasent. Maybe you can borrow theirs since they basicly have every map made for and entire galaxy.

6. camera field of vision ect.. another thing EAW remake mode have perfected dunno how they did it, but you can move the camera in almost every direction you chose.

7. Covettes using figthers space layout, it would really make them harder to hit and add more immersion since they would'nt stand still while firing in real life. Only a few mods have realized this.

8. rebel and empire unit roster.

Rebels
There arent really that much to add if u ask me, but the assault frigate mark1 might be a good contender for the gab between light corvettes and the mark2. Its would be faster then the mark2 with the same amount of firepower but less armor and brawling potential. it would act as a good dmg dealer that can close gabs an porsuit other ships. IT could also carry some close range proton torps.

Empire
Again not much i can think of atm. But the tyrant missle cruiser, could be a good fire support missile ship with long range rocket bombardments on enemy fleet clusters. (Think of the agressor from the originale game just with rockets flying everywhere instead of slow ball of death.

I can only say thats this mod on of my Favorites mod and i hop you can add more Droids because I am a big fan of the KUS / Separatists but take you time perhabs the new star wars the clon wars bring new units ^^.

On this point i will say Thank you great work.

You may have to unsubscribe and resubscribe to do a fresh install of the new version? Still getting used to the Steam Workshop but I checked it today and it was working for me. Please update if this helps :)

Maybe adding hangars to some rebellion ships would be a good idea. Currently Empire dominates in space battles because of their free fighter capabilities. I would make sense to add hangars to some rebellions ships like mon calamri or nebulon frigate, for balancing and lore reasons.

Whats more, tie interceptor absolutly rekt x-wings even 1vs2, so maybe adding auto-heal to x-wings (thanks to astro-robots) would be a good idea?

Another bad thing is that tartan cruisers are OP, really OP. One tartan cruiser can destroy 2 x-wings, 1 corelian corvette and nebulon frigate at the same time :( This makes this great mod unplayable :(

You could also increase size of hardpoints a little bit, they are really small right now.

The Sundered Heart (Hero with corellian frigate) looks like if his ship was critically damaged even if he has 100% hp and shields. What's more, he cant fire and moves very slowly.

Also the number of ships i can field in a space battle is very low. its like 3 medium ships and a few fighters, wtf?

T2B arent doing almost any damage to infantrty... have anyone tested this mod?

Please either significantly lower the population of individual ships, or enhance the overall pop cap. That is the only fault I can find.

Sugestions
1.Ghost crew from star wars rebels as heros for rebels (+Ahsoka/Rex if you want)
2.Mabey a new lore acurat (Legends or disney canon I don't mind) with unknown regions, and the other regions
3.Mabey some more major tweks to ground combat (When you can)
4.Death star
5.Mabey rebel 1 for rebels
6.ECT

heres a suggestion -
make a separate mod that only includes texture and model files and is compatible with the core EAW game cuz there is no mod i know of that makes EAW look like this visually

This is a pretty great mod! The visuals are stunning and it is really well optimized for all PCs! There are some key things that I would like to say however:

1. Rebalance some of the units. Whether skirmish or Galactic Conquest, the empire ships are a bit to powerful. Rebel Bombers should be more tanky and the proton torpedoes they shoot should do a lot more damage. CR-90 Corvettes should be able to rip apart enemy fighters also, but they don't. Star Destroyers should have weaker shields but stronger hull. The Empire seems a bit powerful. They should be strong early/mid game and the Rebel Alliance should catch up by late game. (Rebel Alliance should still be able to take planets, but not as much as empire should be able to.) Star Bases are great (except for the Imperial Star Base, they are WAY to tanky.)

2. Add more units like GR-75 medium transports and Z-95 Headhunters to the Rebel Alliance and the V-Wing Star Fighter to the Empire. While GR-75 Medium Transports are cheap and expendable, they should be allowed to buy the transports for a very low cost (cost of the Y-Wings) and they should not cost any unit cap. This would give the rebels a meat shield. With Z-95 Headhunters, they should be a cheap fighter available for game for rebels while the V-Wing should be available for the empire.

More ideas include making small pirate fleets that can be bought by the Rebel or Empire in bulk. (On specific planets like Tatooine or Nal Hutta)
Example:

(1500 Credits and 10 Unit Points) Small Pirate Fleet includes:
-2 IPV-1 Patrol Corvette
-1 Pirate Fighter Squadron

(4000 Credits and 25 Unit Points) Medium Pirate Fleet includes:
-1 Pirate Frigate
-3 IPV-1 Patrol Corvettes
-4 Pirate Squadrons
-2 Random transport units.

(12000 Credits and 60 Unit Points) Large Pirate Fleet includes:
-4 or 5 Pirate Frigates
-3 IPV-1 Patrol Corvettes
-4 Pirate Squadrons
-3 or 4 Random Transport units.
3. In Galactic Campaign, the special units (Rebel Mercs, Twi'leks, Bothans, and Geonosians) will disappear during the mid-game/late game and you are not able to purchase the units afterwards. It makes it annoying. I am unsure why this is.

4. Leader Heros like Mon Mothma and Palpatine should be able to reduce the price of units on planets and I don't think they do.

5. Give some heros ships. (Garm Bel Iblis should have a Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser in space and the Battle Platform on ground.)

6. The Rebels should be able to stand against the Empire was their superiority starfighters, however the empire has the superiority even there... the X-Wing stafighters are completely useless, they can hold the line against TIE Fighters, but that's all, they will hold without really prevailing.

7. A small thing I personally would love to see is the addition of the Braha'tok-class Gunship for the Rebel Alliance and the Gozanti-class Assault Carrier for the Empire.

"The mod is amazing and really well polished, never seen a mod polished like this before, and the graphics is spectacular, you need only to balance it better in my opinion and it will be really a masterpiece."
