for how long the problem was around? does it throw out any errors?

so far i'd assume it might be some addon conflict, or you happened to make a save when smh was affected by certain error when you tried to delete a keyframe when holding ctrl, which used to break it (shouldn't be the case after update from 16th may). in case if that is the latter, then sorry, don't think there can be much done about it other than starting over.

or do all the saves not load in?

all the saves don't load in, and it's been around ever since i made my second animation although once i did load it successfully but ever since then none of them have loaded in and i there aren't any errors. although the rag doll pose has been spitting out some errors every time i use it.

try to see if it's an addon conflict - in gmod addons menu you should have an option to disable all, then search stop motion helper there and enable it. then restart gmod just in case, load a map and check if smh loading is still broken and from that something could be figured out.

i did that and it still doesn't load

just in case, how do you do the loading? selecting a prop with right click in game, then picking needed prop from load menu? probably could use some more info on what you do since anything can be happening and there's not much that can be helped with without much info. perhaps you can try to delete stop motion helper's .gma from addons folder so it'll redownload, although unsure whether that'll be of use.
