This mod intends to improve FPS performance by compressing all parallax images size.

Instead of removing the parallax background like other mod does to improve performance, it compresses (with no quality lost) everything in the /parallax/images/ directory, reducing them to half its file size. The mod also includes Parallax Fixes.

This mod is a request from a number of users. Feel free to test them out and report if this has successfully improved your performance.

  • Why would you need an FPS boost?
    Because the vanilla images are not optimized, so I optimized it to 50%-75% of its size. It's a request from a number of users too.
  • Is there a quality loss?
    Nope, nothing noticeable.
  • Work on multiplayer?
    Yes. This only replaces images on your end so it will be compatible.
  • Compatible with Frackin' Universe (FU)?
    Compatible. As in, vanilla parallax images will remain compressed.
    However I don't change anything from FU. You might want to ask FU team to compress their images, if they haven't already.

you could create a mod to remove items after death, its working principle is quite simple, but it would give a completely different approach to the game, if all items from the inventory were completely removed after death, it would create a positive circulation of weapons and armor, which would equalize the balance of resources and items in large modpacks

yea insulting people that are telling you something you don't like always makes the game run smoother just like your brain, FU has written a whole page about this and they tested all of these mods they do nothing,

If you people want actual fps improvement, install OpenStarbound, it's not on the workshop it's a community project you can find it on reddit or their discord

Does nothing for the performance like rest of the placebo mods.

Only real way to make this game run better is to pop it on a machine with CPU that has top tier SINGLE CORE performance.

As this game utilizes no GPU and only single core of a CPU

Does it work with parallax from modded biomes ?
