Pythax's Bretonnia Unit Pack (vanilla version)

Description
This is the vanilla version of my new unit collection that I'm making to fill in the gaps of the Bretonnian military :). Please follow the link if you wish to use this pack with the Steel Faith Overhaul mod : http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=884281711

Compatibility patch for dryrains Bretonnia Reskin found here : http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=885306268

Improved porthole portrait for all you Louen Leoncoeur lovers out there : http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=884119144

More units will be added over time.

The units added so far are the following :

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Armoured Men-at-Arms]

Recruited from the Tier 3 Bretonnian Barracks and also require a Smithy, much like their Tier 2 Men-at-Arms (Shield) cousins.

The idea behind these are to give Bretonnia a dependable, but still average mid to late game Line-Infantry unit that can act as the anvil to their horses hammer. They also compliment Foot Squires as the defensive equivilent.

[Grail Longbows]

Recruited from the Tier 3 Grail Chapel and also require an Armoury.

At first glance these may seem overpowered, but I have delibrately limited them to 23 men per unit stack, so please bare that in mind when viewing their stats!

The Grail Longbows offer Bretonnia an Elite late game archer unit to compliment their impressive array of mounted grail units. Low in number and high in cost, these men utilise Bretonnian Longbows with arrows infused of Fey magics to inflict a hybrid of magical and fire damage to their enemies!

[Men-at-Arms (Maces)]

Recruited from the Tier 2 Bretonnian Barracks and also require a Smithy.

These are nothing terribly exciting, but I felt it rounded out the Tier 2 infantry line nicely by adding a defensive armour-piercing varient of the men-at-arms pool. I tried to keep the uniformed look with the other base line units :).

They have lower attack and defence stats + a high recruit and upkeep cost to compensate for decent armour penetration for their tier.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please note that these units are NOT lore friendly (I have just discovered how to edit unit models in Tw Warhammer, and this is the first result) :).

Shoutout to mod author MajorSpankage, I was inspired by his use of the spell 'Amber Spear' as ammunition. Please check out his mod if you are interested in a wider selection of units :) http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=702684894&searchtext=glory

I hope you enjoy! (any feedback is ofcourse welcome)

Lovely mod, cool units. Would it be possible to make each unit into distinct packs, so that there is one sub-mod for the armoured men at arms, one for the men at arms with maces and one for the grail longbows? :)

The reason for that is that I prefer fielding my Bretonnian knights without bows or ranged weapons whatsoever for lore reasons.

If you'd take the time to do this I would be very happy. Of course, I imagine you would only do this for TW2 by now, but that would still make me happy. If you don't feel like you want to do that, well I appreciate your time atleast and thank you for the mod/s that you make and share with us. ^^

Would you be willing to create new units? perhaps a crossbow one? maybe another using pistol or handgun due to trade with the Empire, "Imported Handgunner", "Imported Mortar/cannon".. I heard in the lore the reason Bretonnia doesnt not have a stream of black powder its because they're too poor to manufacture it, that true?

Any word on new units coming? :O

Hmm, would it be possible to add the Merry men of Bretonnia, the Herrimaults? Seeing as how they're lore-friendly and they fight some incursions from greenskins & beastmen that attack villages and towns, they would be a pretty interesting unit to have. :O

The Mod is great, I love the new units and the variety it adds to bretonnia's army. There is one thing that bothers me though. I cant get over that the Grail Archers are still wearing greathelms... you would not wear that when using a bow, just to kinda add a little bit more immersion to the mod I would swap out the helmets for chainmail coifs or hoods.

@AGES99
Ssssshhh! Don't tell him that! Lol

Oh well, Bretonnia needed a better infantry than cavalry. So it works out all the same. XD

@AGES99

After reading up a little, this is indeed true, from what I can tell. I doubt I'll be adding more cavalry units to Bretonnia anyway, they certainly have that covered.

Aren't Demigryphs associated with and native to only the Empire?

:O ooooooo! Well your idea works better too! Lol
