I agree, it doesn't make sense they breath air. Perhaps someone has made a racial patch that removes it.
But it's okay.
I just wish I could dress them up with those special vanilla species skeletons.
You could make larger versions of the fossil heads too.
The Skelikins are basically human skeletons, but the skeletons of the other species are slightly different.
Even the Apex skeletons are different from the human skeletons, because besides the skull, they're also thicker, with more open ribs, and overall larger.
Like, could a skelekin disguise itself as the woody skeleton of a Floran, or the robotic skeleton of a Glitch?

asking that since now it feels like they could actually fit into Starbound thanks to Wargroove's Felheim Undead/Skeleton themed faction ^^;;
