The pics are pretty ancient, but the lighting has worked the same since then and Starbound hasn't been updated since 2019. You're good.

Also, totally safe to uninstall this one whenever.

I think it'd be more convenient for both you and other modders if you could make a small patcher program that automatically makes all lights point-lights in a mod, a-la Spawnable Item Pack's Fetcher GUI.
