Beskrivelse
Disclaimer: This navmesh was not made from scratch; it is a work made on top of the original.

Storage Facility's newly developed navmesh

TLDR -> This navmesh makes it so Bon the Rabbit can crawl into the vents and catch you; that is it.

This addon was created due to "Bon the Rabbit" getting stuck on odd spots around the map, like the railings around the top floor of the theater area while the player was near the stage or in the middle of that same area.

Another reason is that it was also a little strange that "Bon" was never willing to go into the vents, instead opting for looping around and going for the vent entrance that was closest to the player without ever being able to catch you unless you got into his jumpscare range.

So with these additions to the navmesh, "Bon the Rabbit" is now able to crawl in and go after you, so it's able to keep pressuring you.

FAQ | Possible Issues You Might Come Across

"Bon the Rabbit keeps losing me in the vents and starts to roam."
  • Try this first: Spawn Menu -> Utilities -> Bon the Rabbit
Here you should tweak the "Detection Settings"; try increasing them.

  • If that didn't work, try the following: Spawn Menu -> DrGBase -> Nextbot Settings -> AI Settings

Here, try increasing the detection range.

  • IF NOTHING ELSE WORKS

Use the previously mentioned "AI Settings" section and toggle "omniscience" on. This will make "Bon the Rabbit" chase you until he catches you without ever losing you.

Thank you "SpringerX" for assisting me with the testing of this addon.

I also owe a big thanks to @krazart for communicating and allowing me to deliver these changes to the workshop.

Hey I got mine to work by following step five in the debugging thread. The add on now works for me.

@Smoothdesigns29 from my knowledge I think that is a no, and I think it has to do with the way the nextbots are coded.

Take "Bon the Rabbit" for example. He does not, to my knowledge, have a way to open doors. Instead the just breaks them and that is it, that is how he gets around closed doors.

The problem is, that gate in the office is not breakable, so he just gets stuck there until someone decides to open for him, or, if he sees you in the vents right after you spawn him, he will instead go into the vents to chase you.

TLDR: Some nextbots cannot open doors.

Is there a way to stop the navmesh from leading npcs through the closed office door? Or an addon that makes nextbots smarter in that area?

@Medajoltz thank you very much for the suggestion, I'll definetly be adding that to the solutions list.

I'll also place your name there to show your contribution.

What worked for me after the addon had issues applying was this:

1. uninstall navmesh addon and close game
2. navigate to navmesh folder at steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\maps
3. delete all navmesh files relating to k9 in \maps and all of its subfolders (I had 3 files i deleted)
4. open gmod and enable navmesh addon
5. restart game and see if changes applied with "sv_cheats 1" then "nav_edit 1"

Seems like if you previously generated a navmesh for the map the addon has trouble overwriting it, but as soon as I deleted it the addon's mesh applied. This may be one of the main issues. Hope this helps.

If anyone is having problems with the addon not working, it's probably something to do with the navmesh not loading on your map.

Check the description of the addon to try some of the solutions the author found while trying to help people with the same problem. If none of it worked please write the problem here and the author will contact you personally to find solutions to your issue.

This also helps in finding alternative solutions for others by discovering these different methods and updating the discussion.

@alan.jones0810 it may be because the mesh does not load for you.

Add me so we can discuss it via DM

sorry if I'm writing to you but only now I noticed that Bon doesn't want to enter the ducts and if I try to put him in he runs away.[DrGBase] [Gentoi] Bon The Rabbit NEXTBOT and [DrGBase] The Walten Files: Bon The Rabbit NEXTBOT
Coruja  [ophavsmand] 28. sep. kl. 3:58
@alan.jones0810 alright. That is an issue that the bot has, the fact that he loses you easily in the vents or that the animations are kinda funky are because of the "Bon the Rabbit"'s addon itself.

I recommend you tweak his settings and see if you have better results.
Coruja  [ophavsmand] 28. sep. kl. 3:53
@idkrandomguy if you would like to solve the issue with me via dm, add me.

If you tried step five properly and it still did not work, it may be something new that I can add to the "Steps List" after we solve it.
