Lava Power

Omschrijving
Ready to harness the heat of the earth even further than just geothermal vents? want a power solution with some hair on its chest? Lava power introduces a reinforced complex capable of using the heat of lava to generate power.

Once you research geothermal power you can use that knowledge and build a generator on a plasteel-reinforced column that acts like an advanced geothermal plant, pumping out a whopping 4,000 Watts while lava is underneath it.
Note that it needs deeper occurrences of lava to operate, and cant be used with shallower/flowing lava, primarily limiting it to use around lava lakes.

I am not responsible for any worker injuries related to contact with lava.

Current building costs for the lava generator:

-Construction 9
-220 Steel
-100 Plasteel
-7 Components

You are AWESOME! Thank you!

I've gone ahead and added mod settings so you can adjust the power.

4000w early game seems really overpowered. Is there a way to make this so we can adjust the amount we get from it? There really doesn't seem like a way to balance it.

you should be fine, but i never guarantee anything when it comes to changing modlists mid-save

Can I add this mid-run with other mods, assuming it's compatible?

As for the adjacency penalty i see being discussed below; I've mentioned prior that I dont think they need it considering you need to:

- Either travel to or settle on a tile that has lava around
- research geothermal energy and provide the resources needed to build the thing
-place it onto lava which runs the risk of sudden lava flows getting into your base or catching colonists unexpected.

its rimworld after all, I dont think this is the worst thing in the world since theres already a lot of broken ways in vanilla and mods that are easy to abuse :)

In theory, yes, as long as whatever bridges you use can support the proper terrain weight (heavy iirc) for the building to go on. which mod adds the ability to do that? afaik lava doesnt really have any bridgeable tags to let you build on it?

Would this work if i build platforms/bridges in the center of the crater? Like pumping power from the center?

You need to live in a literal hellscape to get that power, it's fine, having to live somewhere that's almost as bad as burmingham is punishment enough
