You are AWESOME! Thank you!

I've gone ahead and added mod settings so you can adjust the power.

4000w early game seems really overpowered. Is there a way to make this so we can adjust the amount we get from it? There really doesn't seem like a way to balance it.

you should be fine, but i never guarantee anything when it comes to changing modlists mid-save
Beredor 24 Jul @ 11:12pm
Can I add this mid-run with other mods, assuming it's compatible?

As for the adjacency penalty i see being discussed below; I've mentioned prior that I dont think they need it considering you need to:

- Either travel to or settle on a tile that has lava around
- research geothermal energy and provide the resources needed to build the thing
-place it onto lava which runs the risk of sudden lava flows getting into your base or catching colonists unexpected.

its rimworld after all, I dont think this is the worst thing in the world since theres already a lot of broken ways in vanilla and mods that are easy to abuse :)

In theory, yes, as long as whatever bridges you use can support the proper terrain weight (heavy iirc) for the building to go on. which mod adds the ability to do that? afaik lava doesnt really have any bridgeable tags to let you build on it?
Akerhamius 24 Jul @ 8:39pm
Would this work if i build platforms/bridges in the center of the crater? Like pumping power from the center?
BoldTint 24 Jul @ 4:13pm
You need to live in a literal hellscape to get that power, it's fine, having to live somewhere that's almost as bad as burmingham is punishment enough
ShepirotGamer 24 Jul @ 11:40am
Well that adds a good reason to actually wanna be there, pretty good
konstantynopolitaneczka 24 Jul @ 8:50am
don't add any penalties, it's up to the player if he plays normally or wants to abuse this mod
Juggernaut 24 Jul @ 2:11am
Finally i found :popular::approved:

Thank you so much.

Breaking news. Petroleum is OP. Please nerf the Saudis.
Bosh 23 Jul @ 9:39pm
Well I think there should be, because otherwise this could be a greatly overpowered method of generating power.
horologium  [author] 23 Jul @ 9:29pm
There is no penalty, no.
Bosh 23 Jul @ 9:05pm
Is there a penalty for building multiple lava generators close to each other like with watermill generators?
Verbosemoth 22 Jul @ 9:38am
we went from boiling water to boiling lava. truly, humanity has peaked

@horologium
Thank you for returning to modding.
Do you think we could get a lava mining mod?
Even if it's random metallic resources, it would still be cool.
Mutalith 21 Jul @ 9:25am
Feel free to ignore me but I was wondering if you thought about integrating this with Dubs Hygiene and making it need to be hooked up to water when that mod is installed. Think it would be a cool bit of extra mechanic.

Thank for bringing me closer to my dreams of Mustafar.
Proxyer 20 Jul @ 11:23am
Nice
horologium  [author] 20 Jul @ 11:21am
You're right. I thought I had already listed odyssey as a requirement, my bad!
Proxyer 20 Jul @ 11:16am
Hello Horologium. That's an interesting mod.
So I created a mod " [1.6] [Sub-MOD] Lava Power add Japanese Translation " that adds a Japanese translation for your mod and published it on the workshop. Thank you!

P.S.
Since lava is only available in the Odyssey DLC, it might be a good idea to include a workshop description that requires the DLC.

Cool concept, but goodness me that model concoction. Lol
Vulkandrache 19 Jul @ 6:51pm
Can you make a forge that is powered by being build next to lava aswell?
Extra3 19 Jul @ 6:25pm
i will forgive you for the xylophone
horologium  [author] 19 Jul @ 5:09pm
You can go crazy with them. originally they were going to but honestly with the rarity of lava lakes and a plasteel cost sink i see no reason to limit it further, especially since unless you start on a lava biome the lakes are rare enough to encounter.
Yautja 19 Jul @ 5:07pm
Thank you mate! I forgot to ask, is there any limit to distance from one plant to another? Or can I go crazy with a big row of those?
horologium  [author] 19 Jul @ 4:47pm
Yeah! ive updated the description to include the costs.
Yautja 19 Jul @ 4:44pm
We factorio now lol

jk, but that is a neat idea, thanks for it! Could you also share the costs for it?
