Real Good Headlights for Modded Trucks

Description
REAL GOOD HEADLIGHTS for Modded Trucks

I like taking requests for new truck mods to add headlight support for. As long as the truck mod is free and from a source approved by the author, I will add the truck if it checks out OK. If it is a paid mod, I can't justify spending money on it since this is a free mod. However, if enough people were to donate the money needed for me to purchase the truck mod, then I would buy it and add it. I would even pitch in part of the money. Take, for instance, the Jon Ruda truck mods for $30. I would pitch in $5-$10 towards the purchase. So, if 20 people each donated one dollar, I could buy the truck and add support for it. You can make a donation to my PayPal account. The email address I use with PayPal is maurice@speedwaymail.net. Be sure to leave a message with the donation and specify the desired truck.

NOTICE TO GTM TRUCK USERS AND A FEW OTHERS:
The mirrors that are added to this mod for a few of the trucks have been removed. They are in a separate mod that can be downloaded from my website. The mod is called "Truck Fixes" and fixes the most obvious issues on the GTM trucks and fixes the mirrors and windows on a few others. For the GTM trucks, it fixes the stock headlights, the mirrors, the reflection issue on the interior view of the glass, the bad audio reverberation inside the cab, and adds the interior shadows option. I will never put a mod on one of those scammer sites that try to get you to click on something bad. My site has nothing bad and no ads. If you find my work anywhere except my own website or here on Steam, don't trust it. To learn more about Truck Fixes, click the "Discussion" link above.[/i]

This is NOT your typical "wider and brighter" headlight mod. These headlights aim to give you a feeling of real life night time driving. Get ready for a more pleasurable drive at night. Your nights will not seem long enough.

This version is for various modded trucks in American Truck Simulator. My other mod works with the stock SCS trucks. In the Workshop for Euro Truck Simulator 2 you can also find two more versions, one for the SCS trucks and one for modded trucks.

This will greatly improve the visibility when driving at night. Good visibility was a top priority when creating this mod along with trying to keep as much realism as possible. With these headlights, you will get some light reflected to both sides near the front of the truck which will make it much easier to see when turning at a dark intersection, or turning into a dark entry.

Place this mod above the supported trucks that you wish to use it with.

Halogen, LED, and Xenon lights are supported.

All of the following modded trucks are supported:

Diamond Reo Giant

Dodge CNT

Dodge DN800/D500

TRUCK NOTES:
Haterbilt 389: This truck appears to only use Xenon lights. In addition to Xenon lights, I also included Halogen and LED lights in case the truck is ever offered with them as an option. Also, click the Discussions link near the top of this page to find out how to remove the excessive tint from the door glass. The windshield is OK, but the tint on the door glass makes the mirrors darker and hard to view. It also makes it harder to see when turning at night.
Pete 362: At the dealers and repair shops, you can purchase either Halogen or LED lamps for this truck. However, the LED lamps mistakenly supply Xenon lights with them. This mod fixes it and provides LED lights.
Outlaw 359 and Doms 379: These two trucks have way too much tint on the windshield and door glass when viewing through them from the interior of the cab. This makes visibility at night very poor and also reduces the effectiveness of the headlights. Click the Discussions link near the top of this page to discover the fix.
Dodge DN800/D500: To make this work with 1.54 (and higher), in the mod, you must delete a folder and its contents, "/vehicle/truck/share". Until this folder is deleted, the game will crash during startup. Nothing in the folder is needed for the truck to operate. I might make this truck mod available for downloading on my own website as I have done this deletion and also have deleted a couple of hundred other completely unnecessary files that are not used at all. On my system, the truck runs very well.
All Jon Ruda trucks: Adjusted the color temperatures and other settings to compensate for the extra tint on the interior view of the windshield and door glass.

I used to hate driving at night. I would coordinate my rest periods so I would sleep through the night and only drive during daytime hours. With this mod, I now look forward to driving at night. I hope you will enjoy this as much as I do.

namwea, my headlights don't add any additional lights to the trucks. They take the place of the lights that come standard on the trucks. So, I can't add any other types of lights such as the purplish xenon. If a truck comes with xenon lights, it will now have my version of the xenon lights. Currently, there is only one truck in this collection that offers xenon lights, the Haterbilt.

thats good alternative for blind original ona. furthermore can you add real blue xenon and purplish xenon like 10-12k?

charles0406, thanks... You are just in time. I've been putting the finishing touches on this week's update. I will delay it just long enough to get these two Ruda trucks purchased and headlights made for them. The update should happen either later tonight or some time tomorrow.

Hi Maurice, I have made the donation just now. I haven't been on here for a while that is why I missed previous message
maurice  [author] 13 Aug @ 6:06am
charles0406, go ahead and get your donation submitted. With that, I'll be all set to buy the Ruda 389 and W900. There is still time to get both trucks in to my next update that I plan to release this weekend. Thanks.

⚜️Bonifazzio US, I have to first purchase the Ruda 389 and then I can make the headlights for it. Another $20 in donations will get the Ruda 389 and W900 going. Read the first part of the description on where to donate.
