Real Good Headlights for Modded Trucks

namwea, my headlights don't add any additional lights to the trucks. They take the place of the lights that come standard on the trucks. So, I can't add any other types of lights such as the purplish xenon. If a truck comes with xenon lights, it will now have my version of the xenon lights. Currently, there is only one truck in this collection that offers xenon lights, the Haterbilt.
namwea 24 Aug @ 8:55am
thats good alternative for blind original ona. furthermore can you add real blue xenon and purplish xenon like 10-12k?

Thanks Maurice
maurice  [author] 23 Aug @ 9:42am
charles0406, thanks... You are just in time. I've been putting the finishing touches on this week's update. I will delay it just long enough to get these two Ruda trucks purchased and headlights made for them. The update should happen either later tonight or some time tomorrow.
charles0406 23 Aug @ 7:44am
Hi Maurice, I have made the donation just now. I haven't been on here for a while that is why I missed previous message
maurice  [author] 13 Aug @ 6:06am
charles0406, go ahead and get your donation submitted. With that, I'll be all set to buy the Ruda 389 and W900. There is still time to get both trucks in to my next update that I plan to release this weekend. Thanks.

Well i am not hurry up:doublenickels:
maurice  [author] 11 Aug @ 5:33am
⚜️Bonifazzio US, I have to first purchase the Ruda 389 and then I can make the headlights for it. Another $20 in donations will get the Ruda 389 and W900 going. Read the first part of the description on where to donate.

This mod is not adapted for Pete Glider by Ruda as I understand it?
charles0406 8 Aug @ 10:02pm
Hi Maurice, I would like to donate $20 CAD to get compatibility for Ruda 389 and Ruda W900.
Guys let me know if anybody would like to pitch in towards these truck so we can get compatibility
Maverick Knight 17 Jul @ 1:42pm
Yes absolutely, maurice! I love that one too (that´s why it´s in my garage :)
Massive options for the cab style and very nice interior and gauges!
maurice  [author] 17 Jul @ 1:04pm
No answer from Ruda yet. The Classic XL is made possible through donations. I received enough to cover about half of it and I took care of the rest. The Coronado might be the next one. This morning, I put about 500 miles on the Classic XL during night time driving while testing the headlights. It's a pretty nice truck.
Maverick Knight 17 Jul @ 12:05pm
Hi maurice! That is really great news  Did you get an answer from Ruda´s team?
I´m actually using your mod with Ruda´s Pete 362 that I bought recently. The high beam is outstanding - driving through the night a pleasure :)
maurice  [author] 17 Jul @ 8:21am
Ruda's Freightshaker Classic XL is being added. It will be in an update that will be released this weekend.
maurice  [author] 12 Jul @ 7:17pm
Maverick Knight, I sent another email to Jon Ruda to see if he would consider some complimentary trucks for me, but still no answer.
Maverick Knight 12 Jul @ 10:02am
Hi maurice, I actually had the opportunity to test your mod with one of your supported ATS trucks!
Amazing work there from you. I hope you will once be able to make this for Ruda´s 389 and Freightshaker Classic XL.:steamthumbsup::steamthumbsup:

For truck requests that are paid mods, be sure to read the notice I posted near the beginning of the description above.

"They shine forward for a certain distance and then just stop.
Everything beyond that point is dark."

Absolutely right maurice! Very unrealistic ...
maurice  [author] 11 Jun @ 7:40am
I got the Superliner from DielingWu (also known as VD Modding) installed and did a delivery using the stock headlights. I have to give him credit for trying to make them better than most modded trucks. He is basically using high beams for the low beams but changing the angle and brightness to make them more like low beams. You can see forward OK, but turning into a dark street or entry is not easy. The other thing I don't like about most stock headlights is the fading. They shine forward for a certain distance and then just stop. Everything beyond that point is dark. My headlights keep fading off into the distance.

Anyway, I got the Superliner added to my mod and did another delivery. Big difference in visibility as I expected. The Superliner is now fun to drive at night. This will be in my next update which will be released as soon as SCS releases the 1.55 open beta for ATS. Meanwhile, I'm still working on this update with some fine tuning to the headlights.
maurice  [author] 11 Jun @ 5:46am
CarlosMMM, I will check out the Superliner and if it works OK on my system, I will add it in the next update. I'm guessing it will run OK since it originated from Harven's Mack R.

As a reminder to everyone, I am more than willing to take requests for new trucks to add to my mod. However, I can't do trucks that cost money unless it is one that I really want for myself. I also won't obtain a truck from a pirated source, it must come from a source that is approved by the original author of the truck. I don't do Facebook and never will, so I can't get trucks from Facebook unless the original author can somehow provide a different download link for me.
CarlosMMM 11 Jun @ 12:16am
Hey man, would it be possible to add support for VD modding's Mack Superliner in a future update? The mod is free on his patreon.
maurice  [author] 10 Jun @ 1:03pm
Maverick, the next update has even slightly better visibility when turning and when approaching a dark intersection. I'm holding off releasing it until 1.55 is at the open beta stage in both ATS and ETS2. It also has slightly improved high beams. So far, there is one new truck added to the ETS2 modded version.
Maverick Knight 10 Jun @ 11:35am
Your´re the first modder, that really seems to have a solution to this matter!
Maverick Knight 10 Jun @ 11:33am
Maurice, thanks for your (quick) reply!
I read on their discord that they have a lot of requests at the moment.

Would be really great if they could assist you, because this headlight problem is a VERY BIG issue with ATS and ETS2.
maurice  [author] 10 Jun @ 11:09am
Maverick, late last week, I sent an email to Jon Ruda asking him if he would be willing to provide the rest of his trucks to me at no charge since I have had a number of requests to provide support for them. I haven't heard back as of yet.
Maverick Knight 10 Jun @ 10:59am
Hello Maurice, your mod adresses a issue I have since I started driving in ETS2 and ATS. Turning in the night is per default like turning into a black hole. Zero visibility. I was quite happy when I found your mod(s) a few minutes ago but sadly both trucks in my fleet (Ruda´s 389 Glider and Freightshaker Classic XL) are not supported, so sadly your mod has no effect.

Ruda´s Trucks have an optional (for changes) open def. Do you think I might be able to change the lighting with a few hints from your side?

Shurly the best solution would be the implementation from your side but I understand that you cannot buy each payed truck ...

Normally I really like to drive in the night (also IRL) but it´s no fun if you have to guess your turns on the road or on dark company sites in the night.

Kind regards,
Maverick
maurice  [author] 4 Jun @ 7:31pm
wictorych62, if you are talking about Jon Ruda's Freightliner Coronado, no, it is not supported by my mod. In order to support it, I would first have to buy the truck mod from Ruda. I might try contacting Ruda to see if he would consider donating the rest of his trucks to me so I could include them in this mod.
wictorych62 3 Jun @ 10:39am

cwperformancehorses, click on Discussions above and the message there explains about the Truck Fixes mod and has a link for the download.
cwperformancehorses 17 May @ 11:10pm
where can i get the truck fixes mod?
charles0406 17 May @ 8:55pm
Thank you for quick responses and I really love your work.
maurice  [author] 17 May @ 8:45pm
I did a little tweaking on the headlamp aim on the Ram 3500 and also increased the light output just a little bit. This made a nice difference on this truck. I usually make a point to test drive the Ram 3500 prior to releasing any update because many times it needs a little extra attention, but slacked off on it this time. My fault. The changes I just made will be in the next update which should be next weekend.
maurice  [author] 17 May @ 8:14pm
When you are sitting in the Ram 3500, the highest part of the left windshield wiper should line up with or be slightly lower than the front of the hood. Anyway, I took the truck for a ride and the lights work OK, but I think this current update affected it a little bit. It could stand to have the headlamps adjusted up just a little bit. I'll play with that setting for the next update.
charles0406 17 May @ 7:10pm
I think it was the way i was positioned in the truck. Happened I was sitting a bit too low
maurice  [author] 17 May @ 7:01pm
I'll hop into the Ram 3500 and take it for a ride and see if there is an issue with it. I haven't driven it with the current update yet.
charles0406 17 May @ 4:37pm
Thanks once again for this beautiful mod. I bought Jon Ruda's Dodge Ram 3500 today and I used your mod with it.
The headlight did not beam forward but i was able to see the sides clearly even when I used high beam, it's not projecting forward enough.
I would appreciate if you can please look into this
maurice  [author] 11 May @ 4:16pm
miker107, I tried the BiggDogg 379 and decided I can't provide support for it yet. This truck mod is not ready for public use yet. When it first comes up, it doesn't have any fenders, lights, bumper, radiator, grill, dash, and interior floor. Some other parts are missing too. The user shouldn't have to select and add all those parts. There should be a default truck that is built complete and ready to go. Also, the engine doesn't make any noise. I can't drive a quiet truck. When this truck mod is finished and is really ready to go, I'll check it out again. Let me know here.
maurice  [author] 10 May @ 6:27pm
miker107, I'll take a look at it. I'm buttoning up a new update right now, but after this, if the truck works out for me, I'll work on including it.
miker107 10 May @ 8:03am
Just one more add if you could please. I just installed the BiggDogg Pete 379 off the truckymod site and it sure could use this.
maurice  [author] 5 May @ 10:19am
Zyda, the two Ruda trucks that my mod currently supports, the RAM 3500 and Pete 362 are ones that I bought. I bought those because I personally wanted them.
Zyda 5 May @ 9:04am
Okey, I understand. Thanks for the reply!
maurice  [author] 5 May @ 8:57am
Zyda, I would gladly add the Ruda Pete 389, except I would have to first buy the mod from Ruda. If you can convince Ruda to donate the mod to me, then I would download it, install it, add it, test drive it and make any needed adjustments and then provide the update. I don't mind doing all the work of adding a truck, but I can't justify paying money to add it. I hope you understand.
Zyda 5 May @ 8:32am
This is a great mod!
Could you possible add the Pete 389 glider by jon ruda aswell?
maurice  [author] 30 Apr @ 8:44am
OK, I've included support for the Deboss K100 and tested the truck. I won't be keeping the truck on my system, though, the Overfloater K100E is much better. Maybe the Deboss truck will get better in time. Currently, it is a resource hog and hurts the framerates. That won't be an issue when SCS implements multi-core support in the game. It also crashes my system when I exit to the Title Screen. For those who are having better luck with this truck, at least you will be able to enjoy my headlights after this upcoming update.
maurice  [author] 30 Apr @ 7:42am
charles0406, thank you for the request, I'm working on adding it to the next update which should be available this weekend. I wonder why the Deboss K100 requires you to be at level 21 before it can be purchased?
Gothicmatze 30 Apr @ 5:01am
Top
charles0406 29 Apr @ 7:31pm
Can you please add this Deboss K100.
Here is the link to the mod https://debossgarage.com/downloads .
Thank you so much in advance
