Real Freedom - Really Landless

UPDATE May 5th 2025 - I had to remove a couple things from the mod because they no longer worked as intended, working on cleaning the mod up more and adding more functionality. I suggest with each update to unsub and resub to make sure you dont have any leftover old code because steam doesnt remove files when updating it only updates and adds new files but doesnt remove old ones.

I made this mod for myself and everyone that loves complete freedom.

This mod allows you to play as anyone, you can be really landless and in this case I mean really landless so no camp either you can be a courtier of someone even if you like.

This mod also allows you play as normaly unplayabe governments like Theocracy so you can play as the Pope.

You can also play at the Baron level.

Now you can really start at the bottom.

Here is how to make this work if you follow these steps then your all set.

1. Place the mod at the bottom of you playlist so it has highes priority

2. Start your game like normal and pick a landed character or one of the new landless characters that paradox added.

3. In the Diplomacy character interaction menu you can find a new interaction called switch character, this allows you to switch to any character you want even courtiers, barons, the pope etc.

From there you can just continue to play as that character.

There is also a new interaction under Diplomacy called Make Laamp, this interaction will give that character the Landless Adventurer Camp, if you use this interaction on a landed character he will become a landless adventurer.

For now this is a very lightweight mod and should be compatible with pretty much any other mod out there, I do intend to expand on this mod in the future.

PS. Little side note for those making their completely landless character Laamps with a camp, if you ask the person owning the land your camping on to buy land before you do save the game, if it happens to crash load it again then before you make the request switch to different character and then back again that should stop the crash from happening, you can to make sure it will not crash switch to a premade Laamp and then switch back to yours. Just a little heads up that the system can sometimes give you a headache so better safe then sorry.

This mod does incorparate a couple of the options from the before mentioned 1 and 2 mods with it's own edits and changes and this mod will also have it's own seperate functions added. However all 4 mods in that load order will run perfectly fine together and will give you much more options.
