"Hickok45 here. Do you know what might be better than kneepads? Slings and foldable stocks and sights on guns, that's right."


Relatively simple weapon mod I've been working on for every primary weapon in the game. Have you ever thought about what purpose all those tiny hooks and rings on guns serve? Those are points of attachments for a weapon sling. I've always wanted to have those on guns in l4d. Granted, there were a few attempts of adding slings, but those are few and far between on the workshop.

Aside from slings I've also wanted to fold unfold every foldable fold that might fold on a weapon, like sights and stocks, and bipods. This mod fully utilizes the "flashlight" bodygroup to allow the weapon to switch between "folded" and "unfolded" states. While researching, I've seen some foldable parts that I could not unfold, like the stocks from scar and sg552, as well as in-built bipods of the scout.

This gun mod is extremely biased. All the guns in this back use L4D1 styled animations. A lot of them use nerdie's animations but for some guns I prefer different animations by other modders. The most edited model would be the M60 LMG, I've taken the liberty to re-scale its w_model to look less chunky and in-line with it's real-life counterpart, I've unfolded its bipods and added bullets inside of the w_model to make it look more detailed.

Most guns in this pack are compatible with reskins, except for the SPAS-12, which uses a custom texture for its unfolded state. The stock for the uzi uses its own texture. And the pumpshotgun uses a custom vtf, as well.

This mod does not contain any of the pistols. Feel free to choose your own. Personally, I'd prefer my Icon based L4D1 anims Deagle as the unofficial remaster.

Yes, I am aware that a strap is for carrying the gun on the back, but the reason I didn't include them in the holstered state is that it's pretty much impossible to make it work on the survivors' backs without it looking a bit goofy. So, I've settled on them being invisible when carried. Sue me.

The flashlight bodygroup does not work in third person. Any weapon held, while in third person will be in its holstered state.

Back from testing the mod for myself, and I can definitely say that the reload animations do sync well with the actual reload.

Some animations like the AK47 and the Hunting Rifle, syncs so well to the point where the moment you hear / see the gun's bolt going forward, the reload immediately finishes, making it a very nice cue for the 'reload complete'.

There is a way to separate all the guns?
For someone like me and others to put other types of mods like nightmare mods along with this mod so as not to have too many compatibility issues, you know?

Are the reload animation in sync with the reload? That is, the reload actually finishes once the animation finishes, and you don't have to wait for a second or so after the animation to have it reloaded.

I've seen a lot of different reanimation mods for weapons tend not to follow the rule of making the animation in sync with the reload, and looking at the preview video, I notice some weapons seemed to have reload animation that finishes faster than that of their vanilla ones.
