Additional Freight Transporters.

Add new type of cargo transports - Barges, Helicopters and in the future trams.

Barges are like cargo ships but use ferry paths & canals
Helicopters are like cargo planes but use helicopter paths
Trams - in the future.

Update 1.1.1
*Fix pathfinding issues with small 4 lane roads.

Update 1.1
* Helicopters now hold 3 trucks.
* Barges and cargo helicopters now have sliders like in optimized outside connection to wait until full
* New option use at your own risk - barge wont spawn until full.

For barges, you need a separate sets of building & vehicle assets:
- Class name: Ferry Cargo Vehicle (vehicles), Ferry Cargo Facility (harbors)
- Service: Public Transport
- SubService: Public Transport - Ship
- Level: 5
- Vehicle type: Ferry

For helicopters, you need a separate sets of building & vehicle assets:
- Class name: Helicopter Cargo Vehicle (vehicles), Helicopter Cargo Facility (depot)
- Service: Public Transport
- SubService: Public Transport - Plane
- Level: 5
- Vehicle type: Helicopter

How to use cargo barges
- Plop 2 or more barge harbors
- Connect them with ferry paths or canals
- Barges will spawn automatically!
- (when Industries DLC is owned & the the option is enabled): select a kind of resource stored

How to use cargo helicopters
- Plop 2 or more helicopter cargo facilities
- Connect them with helicopter paths
- Cargo Helicopters will spawn automatically!
- (when Industries DLC is owned & the the option is enabled): select a kind of resource stored

Tried installing this mod, but all cargo assets wont load with error like this:

Exception:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Tried resubscribing, recheck installed files, nothing helps.
Is there any way to fix this?

Cargo helicopters run into each others paths and clogging the path and having everything at a standstill. I have to delete the helicopters in one direction to get traffic flowing.

Hey I'm having issues where the barges don't seem to work.

I already have it working so well that the game started to look like openttd.

But after I deleted and redraw the barge paths while re-doing the barge ports, it suddenly doesn't seem to work.

The towns that were supposed to trade cargo are not connected physically by anything. Only through barges can they transport cargo to each other. All of the factories are ready to export, but they won't send trucks to the barge ports.

I tested if ferry paths were the problem by trying to create ferry lines running through them; ferries seem to run along them just fine.

I even placed a new barge port, and it still won't spawn barges nor see trucks going to them

Thanks t1al, nice mod. But the barges won’t transport plastics. The are spawning and taking commercial goods but the plastic is always shipped with a truck. Even when the barges would be way faster.
Any idea?

@HKSvsGreddy - Hey, it works like cargo trains, or cargo ships, you don't need to place stops, it works automatically as needed (if the best route is via helicopter or barge the game will choose it to transfer goods and other industrial stuff.

I tried unsubbing-then re-subbing to make it work; but I still can't place ferry stops on the cargo harbours. The option to turn-off the warehouse function in the ports is missing before and after resubbing

I can't seem to place any stops on the barge or cargo heliports with the mod on.

I'll try unsub-resubbing to see if it fixes it. I'll tell you if it works.

I love your mods, in fact I don't know how I would live without Better Toolbars, but this one is my favourite so far! You didn't just revive a very useful mod, but also added very useful cargo helicopters and informed about the existence of cargo trams!
+1 for cargo blimps – they are surprisingly good if you don't care too much about the speed.
Since I can't donate at this time, I'd like to contribute by attempting to recreate the cover image in game. Will ping you if I succeed or something.
