What you're talking about is a super simple mod you could make yourself, just create a tiny mod that replaces the 'emote.png' file, and redraw the eyes however you like them to be on it :)
im pretty sure i did make a comment a long time ago if you or someone make like a patch mod or very small update when you use the smile emote your character, a neki will close his or her eyes when smiling like the glitch race in the cutebound mod. doesnt have to be done but i would like to see something like that

Nekibound, and consequently this mod too, don't replace the vanilla arm sprites, while Cutebound does - which is why you're seeing what you're seeing, which is by design. I can make a small personal patch just for you and send it to you over Discord, but I'd be hesitant to change it in the mod itself, as its' goal is to replace as few vanilla sprites as possible.
