I've also noticed with the Durasteel drill as well that it also attacks from behind it as well for some reason

Update: Alkaiser's Drill Bit Size mod seems to fix the issue I just mentioned. I turned on that mod and now I'm not having the tick speed problem. Don't know if it was a bug or if the mod actually does fix it.

This mod is brilliant! I can only wonder what took so long for someone to make it! However, I do have a small gripe. I don't know if it's just the Durasteel Drill or all of the drills (I didn't notice the issue until Durasteel, and haven't reached a point to upgrade to Tier 5 yet), but the attack interval seems a bit slow. While the default drill deals continuous damage within its range, it seems like these drills, or at least the Durasteel one, only deal damage every two thirds of a second. This means that waving the drill around underground will take out clear chunks instead of mining everything I covered, and in combat, enemies can slip through the drill and strike me as if the drill wasn't there. I would recommend rebalancing the drill(s) so they deal slightly less damage per tick, but then match the tick speed to that of the default drill or even faster. This would allow for the same upgrades in usefulness without compromising the tick speed or damage output unfairly.

This mod is perfect for me. Now I can finally have point-defense against melee space enemies!

I posted a mod to increase the size of the drilling area. The drills are the same size, only increasing in drilling power as you tier up.

Seconded, Nyx!! No matter what drill speed, it's just painful to swing the drill back and forth a million times to make sure the mech hitbox can fit properly. Especially when you can do better with an upgraded matter manipulator, it kind of makes the mech drills way less fun :c

couldwe get *bigger* drills? don't much care if it's slow, just tired of slowly carving out tiny holes to fit the mech through
