A distinction was made for light infantry (militia/skirmishers/irregulars), heavy infantry (line infantry and elites like Chosen, mostly), ranged (indirect), ranged (guns/direct), light cavalry (flankers and harassers), heavy cavalry (knights and monstrous), ranged cavalry, light chariots, heavy chariots, machines (tanks and landships), artillery, constructs (tomb king monsters and Cathay terracotta sentinels), monsters, and fliers
I did not create a design doc that would be particularly easy to read, as it is written in Python and was applied systematically. The basics are as follows: factions can have skills for unit types that are normally present in their own armies (Bretonnia doesn't typically have monstrous infantry, for example), and can use these skills for troops from factions that would be inclined to listen (Elves aren't interested in what Dwarfs have to say about ranged combat). As a result, Kislev's ranged and melee skills will apply quite easily for Empire mercenaries, and High Elves are able to utilize Wood Elf units effectively as well, etc.
If i may humbly suggest to take a look at the description of the mod below. I think your mod and the one below are doing similar thing, however your mod is much better executed as it expands the current real skills in game, and the mod below is creating a new set of skills that replace the first 6 red line skills for lords in all factions. When i was looking for a mod like this - it was hard for me to find your mod and i was looking for keywords "red line", "allied recruitment" and "cross faction".
