This is an optional compatibility patch for Regional Immersion and Cultural Enrichment (RICE) and Ethnicities & Portraits Expanded (EPE).

RICE is already compatible with EPE. However, by default, RICE’s new cultures will use vanilla ethnicities (i.e. the physical appearance of characters) rather than ethnicities added by EPE - this compatch changes that, so RICE’s new cultures use EPE’s ethnicities as appropriate.

For load order, put this compatch AFTER both RICE and EPE. Per the EPE team, RICE should be before EPE in the load order.



While I think you can add this compatch to an existing save game, please note that it will not affect any existing characters so it is recommended you use this with new playthroughs.

No compatch is needed for CFP+RICE. However, if you are using CFP and EPE, you will need the CFP+EPE compatch. The CFP+EPE compatch can be downloaded here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2996881191

@El Boomer: I don't know what Special World is, but have you tried running with *only* RICE, EPE, and the RICE+EPE compatch to see if those work in isolation, without the other mods?

game crashes to desktop before loading to menus. when using this mod along with these guys: RICE, special world, CFP, EPE. This mod was last in the load order. Any clues? Much appreciated!

@Bipedleek If that isn't a load order or mod compatibility issue (though check to make sure you're not running any mods, not even minor cosmetic mods), then it might be due to the mods not installing properly - so you would have to do the old trick of unsubscribing to the mods, waiting until they uninstall, and then resubscribing and reinstalling, and doing that multiple times until something works. I believe this issue is sometimes caused by stuff being not up to date. Also, make sure you have DLCs that are recommended for EPE.

Characters spawning with just nightgown, mostly English, Scots, and Norman characters from what I can tell. Even when running only this, Rice, and epe with the correct load order.

Yeah i figured the problem wasn't this mod but the mod More Cultural Names conflicting with EPE. Sorry bout that

@live laugh die: As Finarfin mentioned, this is likely a mod conflict or improper load order. Try testing *only* RICE, EPE, and the RICE+EPE compatch in that order and no other mods, not even "minor" cosmetic mods, and seeing if that fixes things.

Baltic and Russian characters spawning with nightgowns in stead of their normal clothing

This problem was related to the More Bookmarks+ mod. When playing from the 13th century.
