Shane

This is my attempt to use Rolling Line's Big Boy model in a reskin of the Thomas & Friends character Shane. He's one of the International Engines that debuted in the film The Great Race. Shane comes from Australia, and he is based on the South Australian Railways 520 class, a 4-8-4 tender engine that reminds of the Pennsylvania Railroad T1 class - a 4-4-4-4 tender engine.

After not saying a single word in The Great Race, Shane was forgotten about by the creators of Thomas & Friends. This changed in Season 22, when he had speaking roles in a few episodes where Thomas was in Australia (e.g. Outback Thomas). For some reason, Shane keeps calling Thomas 'Tomo'. Why the blue E2 didn't come to New Zealand as well, I have no idea.

I would like to thank Frantic for having Shane appear in two of his videos. In the first video, Shane is used in a double-header with Edward. For some reason Shane ends up being turned around the wrong way. He is NOT a cab-forward. Southern Pacific 4294, now THAT'S a cab-forward.
