Description
Generate smaller worlds. That's all.

A smaller world means a performance boost and more different biomes nearby.

Each slider step changes world tile count by a factor of three. It is not possible to have smaller steps.

Powered by Harmony
You can add this mod to existing saves (no effect on already generated worlds).
Removal of this mod is possible, but not advised if a size your world is non-default (your world would be stretched to the default size, but no new bases would be generated, so it would look quite empty).

License
All original code in this mod is licensed under the MIT license[opensource.org].

Compatibility
This mod is detour-free and should not break anything.
Should work with any mod which is not detouring planet generation settings page.
Realistic Planets - compatible.
Prepare Landing - you have to turn off its "precise world generation percentage" option.

Known issues
Tiny worlds with low coverage and extra faction mods can have issues with not being able to find a tile for every faction.
The "Ship to the Stars" quest requires a big enough world to happen. If your world is too small, your only option would be to build your own ship.

yeah somehow even on the highest population settings the settlement amount seems too low. besides that i really like the mod

The mod is cool, but you either need to find another mod or add a feature to increase the number of settlements.

Higher subdivision means bigger world.
PanicOregon281 18 Aug @ 6:29pm
does the subdivision need to by higher or lower to increase the worldsize with the .xml?

Technically, nothing prevents this from making planets larger except the slider max value. It is just way too impractical to go for larger than default.

It is actually no longer hardcoded in 1.6, so a simple XML patch/modification would suffice
Data\Core\Defs\Misc\WorldLayerSettingsDefs\PlanetLayerSettings.xml
Change subdivisions value. You will likely need to disable MLP for that to work.

Anyone know if there's a mod to make *bigger* planets? I got a new computer and I think Odyssey made planet generation faster too, and I don't mind waiting a bit longer for a truly sizable feeling planet.

Bigger?

Changed injection point, now should work for everyone

Hmmm, now that's interesting.

I randomly discovered that if I have the Biotech DLC you get the slider for the planet size, if I remove Biotech the slider for that disappears. That's been my experience.
