yeah somehow even on the highest population settings the settlement amount seems too low. besides that i really like the mod
crystal-hunter 24 Aug @ 4:23am
The mod is cool, but you either need to find another mod or add a feature to increase the number of settlements.
ignis  [author] 20 Aug @ 2:29am
Higher subdivision means bigger world.
PanicOregon281 18 Aug @ 6:29pm
does the subdivision need to by higher or lower to increase the worldsize with the .xml?
ignis  [author] 1 Aug @ 11:29pm
Technically, nothing prevents this from making planets larger except the slider max value. It is just way too impractical to go for larger than default.

It is actually no longer hardcoded in 1.6, so a simple XML patch/modification would suffice
Data\Core\Defs\Misc\WorldLayerSettingsDefs\PlanetLayerSettings.xml
Change subdivisions value. You will likely need to disable MLP for that to work.
Nonnegotiable 1 Aug @ 6:54pm
Anyone know if there's a mod to make *bigger* planets? I got a new computer and I think Odyssey made planet generation faster too, and I don't mind waiting a bit longer for a truly sizable feeling planet.
PanicOregon281 31 Jul @ 8:26am
Bigger?
ignis  [author] 30 Jul @ 9:57pm
Changed injection point, now should work for everyone
ignis  [author] 30 Jul @ 9:31pm
Hmmm, now that's interesting.
Baklava_99 30 Jul @ 5:37pm
I randomly discovered that if I have the Biotech DLC you get the slider for the planet size, if I remove Biotech the slider for that disappears. That's been my experience.
Comrade Corwin 28 Jul @ 4:13pm
Just wanted to come in and say that I've used this mod for years and it has been a life saver when it comes to performance. As someone who prefers 100% coverage for aesthetics, world generation is made a cinch and I don't need to take a tea break after clicking on the map button. I really appreciate you keeping this mod up to date! :steamhappy:

It does not change the cities per cell count, it just greatly reduces amount of cells. Small planets are really, reall small.
hellskitty 26 Jul @ 3:03pm
It works but seems to greatly reduce the number of cities on the map if I change the planet coverage to 100% to have the whole planet
Aslangorn 22 Jul @ 2:58pm
I tried loading it with only this mod, Harmony and Core. No DLC, just base game. It had all the sliders except for the option to modify the planet's size. Load order was Harmony > Core > Planet. I'm not a modder, so I don't know what might be causing myself and others to see no size option while others do. Also, I greatly appreciate people who put in all the hard work necessary to make and upkeep mods. I'm definitely not trying to complain or be difficult, I'm just sharing what I'm experiencing in case it helps. :)
ISee 21 Jul @ 6:56am
Might also be the load order, so far it works for me, with the exception of having red errors on small worlds, but author said there's problem with it.
hagnat 21 Jul @ 4:11am
i see a lot of "it is not working with Odyssey" comments out there. It works for me.
can you guys name any potential mods you have that may be clashing with it ?
Aslangorn 20 Jul @ 7:57pm
I don't have Odyssey (or any DLC). Is it possible updating it to work with Odyssey or DLCs somehow made it not work for those playing with only the base game?
ignis  [author] 20 Jul @ 1:27pm
I have no idea, mod works for most users including me, but not for some others.
Shilica 20 Jul @ 5:53am
Hi. I have a problem running this mod in 1.6 version. Dont get the planet size slider. Already tried disabling all the other mods and dlcs, and no change.
Kaeul 19 Jul @ 8:56pm
Map and world generation appears to work as expected, but the grid size of the space layer seems to still be at the appropriate size for a standard world. This can easily be seen with a tiny world on the Odyssey start. The range is almost half the ground layer but such a small portion of the space layer that the gravship frequently has no reachable space destinations. I think the base game may have some issues here, too, but they're very pronounced on smaller worlds. Reproducible with only this mod, official DLC, and Harmony active. It also wouldn't hurt to add an explicit dependency in the About.xml, btw, though I can't imagine many people play without it.

Thank you for the mod. :)
R4nD0mI3z 16 Jul @ 11:25pm
I can confirm it works in 1.6 + Odyssey, at least on tribal start :) Got all the sliders as expected.
Now I just need a mod to greatly increase amount of landmarks (vanilla max is not enough ;)).
Aslangorn 16 Jul @ 2:55pm
@ignis - I'm also having issues with this since 1.6. Every option is still present EXCEPT for the slider to change planet size. I have attempted using nothing but this mod and Harmony, and it still has this issue. Love this mod, so would greatly appreciate checking in on this. Thanks!
ignis  [author] 14 Jul @ 11:31pm
It works with 1.6 and odyssey for me. If you have issues, it is most likely mod conflict (and most likely some mod entirely detouring planet generation page), or Steam had not updated to mod (validate your game files).
Hundzigre 14 Jul @ 6:40am
How ya'll able to use this? Or any workaround for it?
Odd that I don't get any sliders.
hagnat 13 Jul @ 6:08am
@WhY i have a full globe on an instant, using the Tiny version :)
WhY 12 Jul @ 9:27pm
This mod is fantastic; it lets me not have a weird "half globe" while still letting me generate a world within 10 seconds
Flesh Forge 11 Jul @ 6:53pm
highly recommend this + rolling a full planet 1 size down, rather than the default half globe
brick 4 Jul @ 7:34pm
I dont care about good ideas really. I'll sit for an hour if it means something twice the size of a regular world.
OctoGriz 4 Jul @ 2:42pm
i love using this mod but i am on 1.6 unstable and the sliders not showing up :(
ignis  [author] 4 Jul @ 12:39pm
@Jermaine Making grid biggr is not a good idea. There are modst that can let you more settlements.
hagnat 4 Jul @ 9:10am
This is one of those mods that feel so needed and part of the game once you enable it,
that i kind of forget that it isnt actually part of the vanilla experience.
Thank you for your work, Ignis. Hope Odyssey remains compatible.

Is there a big planet vers? More settlements, more chaos, more fun is what im looking for.
Tyrant 30 Jun @ 3:48pm
The only problem I see is that pollution seems to be based on the full size of a world rather than the tiny planet's size, so 5% pollution will be much greater on a tiny planet. And unfortunately, you can't control the pollution slider more finely than 5% intervals.
ignis  [author] 23 Jun @ 7:01am
Updated for 1.6

Due to fundamental change in how it works, it is not backwards compatible with old saves.
AzoorFox 16 Jun @ 7:50am
Oh ok, thank you very much! Have a great week!!! ^-^

To decide if they could work together.

I need to see Odyssey first.

Having the same issue as team_on. No idea if it is this mod or not, but this is the page that came up whilst searching for this issue. Apologies if it is indeed not this mods fault.
This screenshot is 30% coverage with default planet size.
https://i.gyazo.com/e8cf9fd2269afd2c060003faa28cf17a.png
This second screenshot is 35% coverage and default size.

Changing either planet size or coverage breaks factions spawning on the map.
Once again, I have no idea if it is this mod or not, but this comments page came up immediately after searching this issue.
ignis  [author] 11 May @ 4:03am
You are underestimating how much the slider affects the world size. Diference between 30% and 100% coverage is the same as one slider step.

If you count density per tile count, it would be the same. It is just visualy stretches tile size, so world still looks big. But it is really, really tiny.
team_on 10 May @ 7:00am
> Tiny worlds with low coverage and extra faction mods can have issues with not being able to find a tile for every faction.

Looks like it cause problem with factions settelments even on 100% coverage. I enabled 14 factions with settelments. Have half-size planet and Density on Max. This resulted in spawning ony about 1-3 settelments per faction and most of map empty.

While on 100% map size and Density on Max density it spawn settelment like every 20 tiles.
SBRANAMI 9 May @ 12:16am
a mod for increasing the number of factions settlements that spawn that work well paired with this mod?
Archotech 2 May @ 9:52pm
Perfect. Honestly, I don't really know what the point of vanilla's world generation is if for most games you can't even use the entire globe for performance reasons! :steamdeadpan:

Modding is magic!
ignis  [author] 2 Mar @ 10:46am
Probably because I have to change the offset of the layers of different things on the map.
Shouty 1 Mar @ 8:48am
Small graphical issue when used with ReGrowth's world map beautification setting: Vanilla mountain icons appear underneath the mountain icons from ReGrowth. Any idea why? Really cool mod otherwise. Would take this over globe coverage any day.
