I made a simple 1.0 port. At the moment it's just a minor XML tweak to make Rimworld understand that it's a 1.0 compatible mod, but I have some ideas for changes or new features that I might add.

If this does get updated, It would be awsome to see the 'Sunlight' requirement from the plant/animals in AA added (no idea how hard that line would be to add to a race, just think it would be fun ^_^)

Hello - I been updating some older, seemingly abandoned mods to v1.0, and someone asked me to do this one. Anyone still there out there? If so, let me know if there is any objection to this.

I took tleilaxu's advice and just started the Cactoids in a 1.0 world. I've run for over a year with a heavy mod list. I can't see any errors so far. Oddly, no errors pop up on load either. One of them got pregnant (Children) and the world has a robust Cactoid nation acting the same as the humans (Faction Control), so the mod seems to be playing nice with others. It's a shame if the mod is orphaned.

I too could not wait for the 1.0 update and decided to ignore the version incopatibility warning. I have not experienced any problem with this mod in 1.0 so far. But I have not done any surgery or prosthetics.

Thanks for the reply. If anyone else is curious - I found the mod alien races pregnancy add-on but it hasnt yet be updated to b19.

Yikes, that sounds like a very special baby. Unfortunately, I know nothing about the baby making aspects of the mods. You might try asking on the alien framework discord.

Hey, love the mod.
One issue im having is that a cactoid pawn and a beetle pawn (seperate alien mods) keep birthing human children. I've got the alien framework mod, children and learning mod and the compatibility mod. Anyone know why?

There are likely still bugs, and I still need to figure out balancing issues with all the changes, but for now I must sleep.

Can anyone make a CE patch for this? I need this mod for my western theme. :) The blowguns won't work at all with CE. Great mod btw I love this race.

Hi Hivemind, I'm putting up a mod about Comestic Aliens in which I will put together lots of aliens together in one mod but make them similar to humans, no racial traits, techs, weapons. It's a flavor mod to make it easy for people like me who wants aliens but doesn't want to change the balance. So I would like to use Cactaceae but I can only do so with your permission, would you allow me to use it? (With proper credits)

They are their own faction with their own towns. They can be traders if the mod creator sets it up. They can raid too, but generally this race is friendly to people.

With this alien race and others, do the races add in a mix with other colonies and towns, or do they get there own. And then like appear as traders, or even enemy colonies and do raids and such?

I think the crafting weapon bug is an issue with the alien races mod. I've reported the issue.

I've now seen the human crafting cactoid weapons thing, too. It was a blowgun in my case. However, it seems like the human growers aren't able to sow Gold Agave; I get absolutely nothing trying to prioritize growing. I have so few humans in my colonies, I'm actually not even sure if they've been able to help with the harvesting on that field.

Hi, I am testing this actualy. My human crafter was able to craft the long needle weapon even if he's not a cactaceae, then I read in the description of the weapon only cactaceae can craft it.

Loving this mod, having an odd issue that isn't gamebreaking: No combat log for Cactoids!
Took me a while to track down, but I'm 80% sure it's this mod. Also, any other alien race mod loaded after cactoids won't have combat logs, but if loaded above they will.
Flower hair is best hair. <3

BTW, having a great time playing Cactoid Migration in B18. I'm more of a story style player than action so I added some additional mods for immersion. Playing with Cactoids feels really different from playing with Human or even other Humanoids. All that pyrophobia changes my whole approach to building (layout and materials) and storage (woodpiles go outside the complex because they're basically Shacks of Death). I feel they're culturally tied to Long Needles and Blowguns, so still hunt with those even if they change weapons for raids. Same with the Gold Agave; they always have some around for munching, pressing into juice or making into soda. I added a mod for kids and one of the ladies is in her third trimester; dying to see what kind of flower-hair the kid gets! Still my favorite mod! Thank you so much for updating!!!

Updated finally. Sorry for the delay.
I tested things for a couple hours, but may have missed something.

Also, I think EPOE doesn't need a patch anymore, so I'm not going to update that unless someone tells me otherwise. I generally don't play with that mod turned on. Cactoids don't have any non-standard organs or bones.

Honestly needs more attention for not being "What if humans but animal?" Overall a recommended mod, and I'd rate it up if I wasn't piggy-packing off of a friend's copy and was allowed to do so.
