it would feel more realistic to make it to where it lasts longer and shorter. like one would last 5 min to several days

would be fantastic if the Sound of the Sandstorm would not be so quiet .. maybe more like the Sandstorm (soundfile) from Mad Max ^^ THAT WOULD PLEASE CROM !

Vanilla sandstorms are about as scary as a kitten. If this mod makes them last longer than a brief fart, you should totally update it ;)

Should make a firestorm in the volcano, a blizzard ice shard storm in the snow biome, a hurricane or monsoon/flooding in the swamp/jungle, and hail storms in the highlands. Make all of these slightly damage structures exposed to the sky, so that with like 2/10/20 storms will peel a layer off your t1/t2/t3 bases. Also you could make spooky monsters spawn near players during the storm and have them attack structures if the player is inside, like purge mobs. But have them disappear with the storm too.

@Gideon - Currently, the Sandstorm is a giant volume with particle effects and damage functions firing off. If this was scaled to be larger, it may provide some performance issues (I'll still test it). If I slow it down, but keep it the same size, that may be the safest option. Regardless, thinking out loud, so to speak - I'll look into it and report back.

I have a question. Would it be possible to adjust somewhere - to extend the duration of the sandstorm?
Sandstorm, lasting of a few tens of minutes of real time would have been a real challenge.

PS:( In Tunisia, we experienced a 4-day-long sandstorm that was not pleasant when you were on vacation.)

Update - while we LOVED this mod, it's primary function it was meant to fix in the game, has been fixed by the Devs. v1 Sandstorms are now easily FATAL.

Hmm, this is super weird. The Sandstorms are doing damage on our server. I'll hop on the modding Discord and see if others have this problem (in the dev kit).

Although ... there is no damage as described below. I'm also working on making mods and noticed one thing: some functions work fine in a single game, but do not work on servers. Perhaps you have the same problem.

The damage to the player is somewhat weak. I do not even want to seek shelter. I remember how, in a single game, you happen to be hurrying somewhere in search of shelter. There hitpoints decrease until the death of the character.
Can increase the influence of the storm?

i use your other mod ( rebalanced world/weapon/100 feat...etc ) , pvp is on ,FF is 0.5, damage over time is on... and storm is on too ^^

@Felysaya - After just testing this on our live server, the Sandstorm is doing damage to players standing in it. Would you possibly have any server settings that could be altering the damage?

In this case, you're right. The problem is that it seems a lot of modders uses the default files from the game, instead of adding compatible more/new files, like you said.

That's not exactly how it works, Rahif. I may have poorly explained it on another mod. If a mod has been set up properly, it adds to a file, not replaces it. By all means, if two mods are literally changing the same value of the same file, yes, there will be a clash.

A non-clash example would be two mods that both affect the ItemTable. I can add and adjust all sorts of items to the game, including brand new weapons to craft. If another modder also adds brand new weapons to craft, we won't clash, because we're both smart enough to follow the "add" rule with the ModController Blueprint Class in UE4. It's only when a modder doesn't make their mods modular, do we have this issue.

Probably it's the modlist order of the mods. Modders should include WICH FILE was modified to compare two mods and the benefits of them. The game doesn't allow two mods to modify different lines from the same file. Or one, or another. Or ask the modder to make different versions of the mod (with other mod merged, like RunningWithScissors and Free Climbing). It would be really better!

What's weird, is even with this sandstorm mod, I had one go by today and it was just a low visibility deal; no damage. I know I've heard "you have to be in the direct path" but honestly, I've never even SEEN the direct path. I've seen the 'wall' approaching, but maybe only the 1st sandstorm I ever saw did any damage.

Not that epic 'cause Conan environment doesn't allow it yet, but... I've these mods too, and yes, COULD happen to be a epic fight (or run for your life). Had one Sandstorm today and the damage really matters now. When you see a sandstorm coming, RUN for a shelter.

if u see the sandstorm icon telling u your in it are u supposed to always take damage? i have taken none whatsoever the last 3 sandstorms. idk if its the mod or the update or both, i did take damage the first storm i seen right before the climbing update, and then i added this after and restarted a new character and i take nothing in storms. im not sure if a mod like this needs updated for the current patch or if maybe i have load order wrong, this mod is near the bottom, thanx for any help or info in advance.
