Well that didn't work... To sum it up, the reason the flag is placed backwards is because when placed on a moving object, the flag must always have the union towards the front of the object. This is the exact reason why every American plane has the flag place normally of the left side but reversed on the right. Same can be said for every soldier who placed the flag on their right arm. This represents the flag moving forward. Hope this helps for anyone who is wondering!
