oof sad this mod is discontinued, I would love a smack talking trashcan robot to do my chores. Borderlands is like made for rimworld.

Though, at this point, there isnt much left, considering the state of base robots. Pretty much just the art asset.

There is another version, which is an add-on to the Androids mod.
That one might be easier to use, I cant be bothered, barely play rimworld, so copy all you need from it.

Gonna make similar one, Will call it "Universal roombah" - will make it for v1.2
The author of this mod has clearly abandoned it.
I doubt i'd have to do much to "update" it. But we'll see.

So will use this mod as base, then update where needed, and post the link to my mod here for anyone who cares.

awh i was looking for robots that do firefighting and hauling injured people. I am using a army of husky's but i don't want to see them die so much.

Maybe in the form of an add-on to either one of them androids mods.

Base robots was fairly simple and had a step-by-step tutorial, but is in my opinion inferior, for one the robot is technically not a colonist but closer to an animal.

Dangit, I had forgotten this mod even existed till I got a recent steam message, guess I will have to find another mod to piggyback off of.

All I really did was make a pixelated poor quality image of claptrap, "borrow" some art for the thumbnail and rely entirely on someone else's work to make the moving bits move.

I make no promises though, Cause I'll be honest, I have no fucking idea what I am doing.

Guys go to the ANDROIDS mod, on really low tier of research they have DROIDS, that do all basic jobs, and can learn how to do it better with time, they are really cheap to make.

Sorry but there is literally nothing I can really do about this.

Base robots hasnt been updated in 6 months, it's a dead buggy mess and required for all the other robot mods.

Updating and, most importantly fixing Base Robots would require at least intermediate skill in C#, which I do not have.

Plus, reading someone elses code in a programming language you dont know and trying to fix it is a bit like me trying to read a research paper in french while only knowing the word baguette, I mean sure I can figure the gist of it with the help of google translate but I couldnt fix a grammar error in it.



I left the mod up but I seriously considered just taking it down with all the issues it had.

I have the same bug as TeraRaptor, they start butchering a human body and they stop and the human body is lost on the table... Only dogs can eat it and no other interactions with it are allowed. Also I would like to know if it would be possible to affect a robot to a specifical task like "You go mining and only mining!".

There is a bug, where the CLAP unit ( CLAP robot ) do this:

>would pick a human corpse,
>haul the corpse to the butchering table,
>start butchering,
>completes the butchering,
>but suddenly stops and takes the corpse off the table,
>haul it back to the zone it was,
>and will continue doing this loop.

No idea why, just noticed that, i have a separate butchering table to do human butchering with my regular pawns, because i use my enemy corpses to feed my animals :D

This mod won't work for me :/. I make the bot, and the bill acts like it failed. The bot doesn't appear, AND it consumes steel/components. Rip my CL4P-TP army of doom, died before it started.

Can the robot be set to not perform tasks like cooking? I had a sudden outbreak of food poisoning and all my cooks had high enough skills to not have this happen.

Could you give it a one-way relationship system? Basically have it spout passing comments regularly to a point where people's opinions of the little robot are so divisive, fights break out, or people just try to smash it?

Oh my God, amazing! I love roleplaying Borderlands stuff in Rimworld and this made my day. : ) If you were interested in the future, a scaled-up version of this mod with the more competent and skilled Loaderbots would be INCREDIBLE. Thanks for the mod!

Can this robot be recycled or repaired if it is damaged? I've tried another robot mod with narrowly specialized robots (haulers v cleaners v miners) and when those bots die, they just rot away in site.
