wht poses you to think it would be a good ieda to use MLRSs for scout vehicles. put in one APC and a bunch of infantry modesl. IF not thet juat use the Mechinf set up, its mutch more realistic

@pistol.pete: thanks for bringing that to my attention. I've been trying to add it on but I'm having trouble. I've updated the mod to correct for BWN but I still haven't been able to add that upgrade path for the shoshone pathfinder. I'm still trying to find a way to work it in and when I do I'll update the mod again.

Please adjust to include the Shoshone Pathfinder. It replaces the scout. I was disappointed when I was playing with this mod and I finished researching compase to find that my high ranking Pathfinders could not upgrade to Explorers. Thanks. Good mod btw.

i can see a U.A.V. drone just reskin a helicopter give it five sight and the evsion upgrade add a range attack of two or three tiles (if you decide three please dont make it O.P. make the attack weak against cities.) That would help with tile stationing and make it act more like a U.A.V drone. i just helped you out big time. :)

Good mod... if I had any feedback it'd be that the Command Vehicle arrives too early in the tech tree... Also, having the Mobile Artillery art can get confusing when you've got other actual Mobile Artillery running around.... ;)

How about one more upgrade to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles? You could add a promotion of evation to avoid it being shot down easliy.

I agree, scouts are always my favorite unit early on for the survival promotions and the ignore terrain cost perk, it makes them the ultimate gorilla fighters in forest or mountain scenarios. I love that I'll be able to use them more in the late game, thanks.

I'm not sure if it will work with R.E.D. I have never used that mod. Perhaps you guys could try and if it doesn't work or does work, let us know.

I like this mod, but you should add a unit between explorer and command vehicle, like a "frontiersman" or something. Explorer->tank is too big of a jump imo.

@BlackDynamite: that would make it a pretty strong unit! (as strong as infanty) when I really see this unit more as very vulnerable and unarmed. It has a specific task (scouting, hence the reason why it upgrades from scout/explorer) and really shouldn't be that strong.
@[RN]Vedrit: Yes it requires gods and kings. Not sure why it wouldn't download, try restarting steam perhaps and unsubscribing/resubscribing.

Well, I think the strength needs to be dialed up... to about 75.. because its armored and then lower the sight to 3. Like a LAV- {Light Armored Vehicle}

Everybody doing artillery spotting? That explains all the friendly fire ;) And I agree with Gregor_Vernof; who cares what it's called? Besides you could see it as a base unit with smaller attached units (not as models but assumed to be there) reconnoitering around this unit, sending the info back by radio and having it collated in the scout command unit which gives it the large siht range. It doesn't really matter, as Bill said: What's in a name? that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet;

At a certain point in the unlocking this unit could become a drone like Global Hawk for scouting. That would be nice.

@zArkham4269: yeah I was thinking about adding a combat bonus but then I thought the player could spam command vehicles and get several stacked bonuses for units. I might tinker around with this and figure something out though.

Personally I think you would be better off using the older M577 Command Vehicle as a model for the Command Unit rather than the generic looking Bradley. The M577 is much more recognizable unit.

OTOH, Instead of calling it a command vehicle, simply labeling it a mechanized scout would be more accurate since a command unit is obviously a command and control unit would (I think) act like a mini general instead of a scout.

Personally, I think having a unit with radio which acts as a combat bonus for nearby units makes sense as the Germans were able to do serious damage to the Soviets during WW II since most of their vehicles (and all their scouts) had radios which the Soviets didn't. This gave the Wehrmacht a huge advantage. It also allowed them to do what the U.S. Army is very, very good at: artillery spotting. Most other countries have trained units/vehciles do it. We have *everybody* do it.

Nice mod. Will try it out, but wouldn't it be better to rename Command Vehicle into a Reconnaissance Vehicle, or Scout Vehicle, like it commonly named in many world military?

There are various different marks and configurations of vehicle designs which are designed for recon, HMMWV and the newer Cougar for the US have reconnaisance variants. The older Scimitar and Scorpion tanks for the UK as well as Land Rovers and the BRDM's from Russia.

Generally speaking, light tanks, LAV's and smaller IFV's can and commonly are designed for recon roles.

That said, this is with just a bit of light research, I'm in no way an expert and would not want to claim to be because I'd probably get my arse handed to me.

@LostHonour: Well, I didn't think there was a modern military vehicle exclusively dedicated to recon and nothing else. A command vehicle provides recon but you could also think of it as directing the units around it.
