Haha, yes, you’re right! Thanks for answering!
bluemeanie  [author] 18 Jun, 2019 @ 5:17pm
Nothing more sophisticated than Notepad++

The advantage of doing it on Vicky 2 is Paradox aren't going to turn round and change half the provinces in the game with a new DLC/Patch combo ;)
D313m 10 Jun, 2019 @ 1:43pm
Hello, I'm working on a similar project (for Victoria II) where every region is a new nation. I'd like to know if you used some sort of modding tool to make the job easier or just changed the owner of every province manually? Thanks and great job!
YellowPikminOP 8 Oct, 2018 @ 6:13am
update please :(
Gypsum  [author] 24 Mar, 2018 @ 9:22am
Like i said before, like what bluemeanie said before, he is being conservative when it comes to modding, he is not going going to go against Paradox ever, and don't expect him to...
TheBeast 24 Feb, 2018 @ 8:58am
Yeah to destroy our culture. They should have put The TURKIC countrys and cultures to TURKIC culture group not TATAR or LEVANTINE or PERSIAN.Safavids where an azerbaijani dynasty yes that makes them fucking TURKIC dynasty not PERSIAN or IRANIAN.You could have fixed this man. There is mods that do that but its up to the person
Gypsum  [author] 24 Feb, 2018 @ 8:30am
honestly they probably put turkish in levantine just to make kebab that bit more broken
and Azerbaijani in irania because the Safavids were historically an Azerbaijani dyanasty in persia
bluemeanie  [author] 24 Feb, 2018 @ 7:24am
What GS said.

I'm not fixing Paradox's assignments. I'm making a mod based on them. I don't agree with all of the culture groups myself but there have been arguments in the past over changes that need making so I made one very simple rule.

If Paradox did it that way, they must have done it for a reason. Trust Paradox.
Gypsum  [author] 23 Feb, 2018 @ 1:00pm
1:blame Paradox for that, since that is in base game

2:he is being conservative and not going against paradox when it comes to culture, so don't expect it to change
TheBeast 23 Feb, 2018 @ 8:21am
What the fuck? Turkish is levantine?Azerbaijan is iranian?Tatars-Turkish's-Azerbaijani's and altaics are in different culture groups? They are TURKIC man what is wrong with you? Not persian not arabic TURKIC
bluemeanie  [author] 25 Jan, 2018 @ 10:14am
Right. Open question. There are countries that need rulers (apparently this is causing instability for some people). I've tried to do the historical research, but that would take me an age, and I'm totally guessing even when given half the information. So I'm left with a choice.

Option 1. Run the mod for a day, note down all the rulers and then code them into the mod. This would generate a batch of random rulers.

Option 2, Run CK2 up to November 1444, take the nearest dukes or local rulers from there across.

Option 1 guarentees that every ruler will have a different dynasty, which possibly gives slight advantages to the Valois and Trastamara types that hold multiple crowns in their dynasty.

Option 2, on the other hand, might put some other dynasties on more than one throne. In the save I have to work from, you get the D'Urgell dynasty controlling both Galicia and Leon and the von Wittlesbachs on the throne of The Netherlands.

So what do you people think?
bluemeanie  [author] 22 Dec, 2017 @ 6:58am
Oooh. Just noticed I missed a couple of provinces in Japan. Lemme sort that.
bluemeanie  [author] 22 Dec, 2017 @ 6:56am
That's what the "Reform Japan" decision is for. So you can either play with the Daimyo system or Culture Nations. Your choice!
Nachtdertoten666 22 Dec, 2017 @ 6:14am
lol i love how japan isnt touched
bluemeanie  [author] 21 Dec, 2017 @ 11:51am
3.1.0 is now live. Enjoy the total rewrite of all the Turko-Semitic and Iranian culture group provinces.
RobbyRobstar 4 Dec, 2017 @ 4:14pm
take your time
bluemeanie  [author] 4 Dec, 2017 @ 3:52pm
Might take a few days to iron out all the creases. I've done the additional provinces so far, so it's just finding all the province and culture changes and adding the new needed countries.
RobbyRobstar 4 Dec, 2017 @ 3:25pm
thank you!
bluemeanie  [author] 4 Dec, 2017 @ 6:32am
Ah. Yeah. On it. Sorry for the delay.
RobbyRobstar 2 Dec, 2017 @ 12:17pm
update pls? :(
Shyawn 28 Sep, 2017 @ 11:43am
Wesphalia is meant to have its capital in Kessel if Ii remeber rightly from forming it in default EU4 - saw t mentoned bellow so thought I'd chime in.

Also a similar bug to the one I found yesterday has appered on the Country selection screen - when you select the asian nations history tab, and the list of recommended countries comes up, each of the icons is registering as the next country along in the line, rather than as themselves.
bluemeanie  [author] 28 Sep, 2017 @ 6:27am
Right. Haven't done anything with the capitals yet. But sorted the ideas thing (one damn curly bracket out of place!) and the two new nations in Africa, with provinces. Also added a new decision where you can stop the Muslim coup from happening in the countries you turn Hindu.
Shyawn 27 Sep, 2017 @ 2:08pm
Hello! me again! (sorry XD) There is some kinda glitch with England in the current version whereby England has Highlander Ideas and the Highlands have no ideas, just to let you know!
Gypsum  [author] 25 Sep, 2017 @ 12:19pm
ehh...hmm...(while westphalia doesn't need one it would be really handy and mae a tad more sense i guess) hmm...i would like one for tamil nadu to either tanjore, madurai or corromandel cause any of those provinces make more sense than it's current one...
bluemeanie  [author] 25 Sep, 2017 @ 4:56am
Hmm. Looking at the map (and the Province list) Oromo doesn't seem to start with any provinces. It's a listed culture, it's got a tag. But it doesn't start anywhere. Which is odd.

Which nations NEED a capital move (other than Westphalia?)
Gypsum  [author] 24 Sep, 2017 @ 4:30pm
wait there is oromo? when i loaded up a normal eu4 game i didn't see oromo
then again it could have been the same color as amhara...and don't forget about harar for harari
though i like Shyawn's ideas with the capitals, expecaily with nations like westphalia where, for example you can make the more important province of hamburg its capital especaily to help with trade by placing the home node at lubeck to prevent people from having to spend 200 adm or dip points changing cap/main trade city
bluemeanie  [author] 24 Sep, 2017 @ 4:20pm
Right. It's religious_events.16 that's the key one (17 is just the final dialogue)
I could remove it (easiest). I could give every country effected by the Hindu India decision the flag that the event sets so it doesn't fire (very doable). Or I could add an additional option that allows the player to crush the religious coup, and give the AI some percent chance to take it (I think I could do it!)

I'll do the provinces at the same time. Afari is Aussa (AFA). Oromo is Jima (JIM). But I've probably renamed them in the localisations. Or I need to... one of the two.
Gypsum  [author] 23 Sep, 2017 @ 1:56pm
btw the id for the event that makes any indian sultinates that are somehow hindu go back to islam is religious_events.17
Gypsum  [author] 23 Sep, 2017 @ 1:49pm
never mind me saying oromo was a thing since it suprisingly isn't
but yeah for harari (primary tag is HAR)
provinces 1210, 1211, and 2773 will have to be syphoned from somalia and put into a harari nation
Gypsum  [author] 23 Sep, 2017 @ 1:43pm
oh boy...now for the horn of africa
provinces 2764, 2765 2768, and 1215 should be afar culture and woned by whatever the afar primary tag is

*sigh* i'm to busy to load a normal eu4 save to see where exactly each of the cushitic cultures are, just do that yourself at this point i belive the 2 i left out were oromo and harari but i can be totaly wrong
Shyawn 19 Sep, 2017 @ 3:52pm
And yeah, when you put it like that (in regard to my suggestion) it's probably not worth the risk that the action would cause crashes, just clicking the japan button causes the machine to shudder hahaha!
Shyawn 19 Sep, 2017 @ 3:50pm
Thanks! I figured that most of it was small stuff, glad to have explanations for it all though!

Trully an awesome Mod!
bluemeanie  [author] 19 Sep, 2017 @ 7:34am
5. Countries start with whatever capital is assigned to them in the game files. I haven't changed anything there.

6. I don't know what the triggers are for adopting the Dutch Republic or Ambrosian Republic. I haven't taken anything out, so if it's conditional it should still fire. If the Netherlands is created as a Dutch Republic I need to change its government.

7. Kurland is a Prussian country. So I'm not sure it's appropriate as a new tag for Latvia/Lithuania/Estonia to form. Totally different culture group.

Final point. I could do it. It'd take time, though. If you're suggesting it should be done by decision then that's a bunch of tags to create and one hell of a decision to code. Plus the game can be... let's say tempramental... with big decisions. Look at the freeze if you reassign Japan, Now imagine that but a lot, lot worse.
bluemeanie  [author] 19 Sep, 2017 @ 7:23am
Right. Let's go!

1. Sapmi is fetishist because it's the Sami people. They're not Vikings so Norse wouldn't be appropriate.

2. If it's causing instability I could install Monarchs for countries that start with random ones. I wasn't aware of that.

3. The Scottish Lowlands and Highlands are seperate starts. I know the game calls them Scotland and Gaeldom by default, but seeing as there's no actual Scotland at the start it seemed better like this.

4. If you look at the flag of Castille it's got the lion of Leon and the castle of Castille on it. That's the Castillian flag from before the two countries merged. I haven't changed the tag of Castille so it shouldn't have changed the starting Castillian ideas. I'll look into it.
Shyawn 18 Sep, 2017 @ 3:11pm
One last thing... a cool idea I had but lack the skills to do... why not add an option to colonise all Eurasian provinces with their cultural nations - including the currently uncolonised provinces - and simultaniously make all non Eurasian provinces not connected by land or straight (so you can't walk to them( uncolonised - including all of the Americas - the point would be to allow for a more dynamic and interesting colonial game, where nations couldn't feed off weak natives but would have to colonise each province for themselves... Just an idea! :)
Shyawn 18 Sep, 2017 @ 3:11pm
7. the Bbaltic countries can form the Baltic State, this is fine, but why not let them form Kurland instead? it is regionally appropriate, has unique ideas, and means less work for mod maker?

Thanks again for the mod, and please forgive the spam - 1000 word limit on posts XD - I have been playing for a while now and these minor immersion issues came up, so I thought I would bring them to your attention just in case they weren't intentional :P
Shyawn 18 Sep, 2017 @ 3:07pm
... 5. Lots of countries start off with capitals in weird places, like Latvia, Westphalia and so forth, not sure if this is random or intentional, but in the case of Westphalia Lubeck or Hamberg make good capitals cos of development, or Westfallen because it sounds similar to the nations name... Again this is a tiny thing, but it is little details like this that make or break gameplay sometimes.

6. Some countries ike the Netherlands or Lumbardy start the game as standard monarchies, do they still get the events to adopt the dutch and abrosian republics? if not, perhaps they should start play with them already? Likwise the option to cancel personal unions should also assign monarchs to al interegnem countries - like poland - to avoid them getting insta unions. In which case though, poland should be given the elective monarchy with that options selection.
Shyawn 18 Sep, 2017 @ 3:05pm
Hey! I love this mod but I have noticed a couple minor issues here and there you may want to look into!
1. Sampi or whatever its called - the northern most nordic country - starts the game as fetishist instead of catholic - though maybe starting as norse would be fun?

2. some countreis like Westphalia lack their own ideas or starting monarchs, I have had the game crash a few times when trying to play as such countries so maybe assigning them starting monarchs could fix this? ideas aren't as big a deal, just nice

3. Scotland starts of as Lowlands instead of Scotland - might be intentional, might not be

4. Castile starts off with a different flag and spanish ideas instead of castilian ideas - might be intentional or a paradox thing, but thought I'd mention it just in case!...
bluemeanie  [author] 12 Sep, 2017 @ 12:11pm
I'll sort that when I officially declare 3.1 :P
Gypsum  [author] 12 Sep, 2017 @ 11:38am
btw you might was to change the screenshots to ones that acualy fir the current mod version XD
bluemeanie  [author] 11 Sep, 2017 @ 2:16pm
Right. I didn't manage to find that damn event. But at least you can make everyone you wanted Hindu at the start. Also the provinces changes have been made.
bluemeanie  [author] 11 Sep, 2017 @ 12:47pm
Seeing as they're about things like Sufi orders and building great mosques, that miiiiight be a little odd :)
Gypsum  [author] 11 Sep, 2017 @ 12:07pm
the simple solition is make them not have to be muslim for their events to fire ;)
bluemeanie  [author] 11 Sep, 2017 @ 10:44am
Right. Just hunting down where that event is in the files. Also I found while searching that Gujurat (and Bengal) have to be Muslim for any of their national events to fire.
bluemeanie  [author] 11 Sep, 2017 @ 7:00am
I'll do the province updates when I put the decision in later today.
Gypsum  [author] 10 Sep, 2017 @ 10:32am
Also, Ilam (2209) is kurdish/sunni in vannila eu4 at game start but owned by persia in the mod
Gypsum  [author] 9 Sep, 2017 @ 2:56pm
the 4th option is probs the best of both worlds...you'd still have to make the even that makes the sultanates turn back to being muslim if they turn hindu...but you can either have history OR alt history
still no mention on if you fixed mahadeo (i think) being owned by malwa at game start despite being gondi culture and garjat staying an oriya vassal after giving all subjects independence
bluemeanie  [author] 9 Sep, 2017 @ 10:42am
Its a question of how much history should leak into an ahistoric mod. All of those countries were ruled by muslims or were part of muslim countires at the time. For instance Malwa and Gujarat had Muslims in power. The Telugu provinces were Hindu under Muslim overlords. And if I get into flipping the religion of countries with all Hindu provinces then that includes Bengal and that would be totally screwing over history.

Possible solutions.

1. Just do it, screw history this is an alt history mod. The subcontinent needs stability.
2. Leave well alone, it's more historical and the instability it causes is a part of the game.
3. Add a national decision that allows them to flip (give the AI a percentage chance of flipping each one)
4. Add a general decision allowing any player to flip them all to Hindu.
