The advantage of doing it on Vicky 2 is Paradox aren't going to turn round and change half the provinces in the game with a new DLC/Patch combo ;)
and Azerbaijani in irania because the Safavids were historically an Azerbaijani dyanasty in persia
I'm not fixing Paradox's assignments. I'm making a mod based on them. I don't agree with all of the culture groups myself but there have been arguments in the past over changes that need making so I made one very simple rule.
If Paradox did it that way, they must have done it for a reason. Trust Paradox.
2:he is being conservative and not going against paradox when it comes to culture, so don't expect it to change
Option 1. Run the mod for a day, note down all the rulers and then code them into the mod. This would generate a batch of random rulers.
Option 2, Run CK2 up to November 1444, take the nearest dukes or local rulers from there across.
Option 1 guarentees that every ruler will have a different dynasty, which possibly gives slight advantages to the Valois and Trastamara types that hold multiple crowns in their dynasty.
Option 2, on the other hand, might put some other dynasties on more than one throne. In the save I have to work from, you get the D'Urgell dynasty controlling both Galicia and Leon and the von Wittlesbachs on the throne of The Netherlands.
So what do you people think?
Also a similar bug to the one I found yesterday has appered on the Country selection screen - when you select the asian nations history tab, and the list of recommended countries comes up, each of the icons is registering as the next country along in the line, rather than as themselves.
Which nations NEED a capital move (other than Westphalia?)
then again it could have been the same color as amhara...and don't forget about harar for harari
though i like Shyawn's ideas with the capitals, expecaily with nations like westphalia where, for example you can make the more important province of hamburg its capital especaily to help with trade by placing the home node at lubeck to prevent people from having to spend 200 adm or dip points changing cap/main trade city
I could remove it (easiest). I could give every country effected by the Hindu India decision the flag that the event sets so it doesn't fire (very doable). Or I could add an additional option that allows the player to crush the religious coup, and give the AI some percent chance to take it (I think I could do it!)
I'll do the provinces at the same time. Afari is Aussa (AFA). Oromo is Jima (JIM). But I've probably renamed them in the localisations. Or I need to... one of the two.
but yeah for harari (primary tag is HAR)
provinces 1210, 1211, and 2773 will have to be syphoned from somalia and put into a harari nation
provinces 2764, 2765 2768, and 1215 should be afar culture and woned by whatever the afar primary tag is
*sigh* i'm to busy to load a normal eu4 save to see where exactly each of the cushitic cultures are, just do that yourself at this point i belive the 2 i left out were oromo and harari but i can be totaly wrong
Trully an awesome Mod!
6. I don't know what the triggers are for adopting the Dutch Republic or Ambrosian Republic. I haven't taken anything out, so if it's conditional it should still fire. If the Netherlands is created as a Dutch Republic I need to change its government.
7. Kurland is a Prussian country. So I'm not sure it's appropriate as a new tag for Latvia/Lithuania/Estonia to form. Totally different culture group.
Final point. I could do it. It'd take time, though. If you're suggesting it should be done by decision then that's a bunch of tags to create and one hell of a decision to code. Plus the game can be... let's say tempramental... with big decisions. Look at the freeze if you reassign Japan, Now imagine that but a lot, lot worse.
1. Sapmi is fetishist because it's the Sami people. They're not Vikings so Norse wouldn't be appropriate.
2. If it's causing instability I could install Monarchs for countries that start with random ones. I wasn't aware of that.
3. The Scottish Lowlands and Highlands are seperate starts. I know the game calls them Scotland and Gaeldom by default, but seeing as there's no actual Scotland at the start it seemed better like this.
4. If you look at the flag of Castille it's got the lion of Leon and the castle of Castille on it. That's the Castillian flag from before the two countries merged. I haven't changed the tag of Castille so it shouldn't have changed the starting Castillian ideas. I'll look into it.
Thanks again for the mod, and please forgive the spam - 1000 word limit on posts XD - I have been playing for a while now and these minor immersion issues came up, so I thought I would bring them to your attention just in case they weren't intentional :P
6. Some countries ike the Netherlands or Lumbardy start the game as standard monarchies, do they still get the events to adopt the dutch and abrosian republics? if not, perhaps they should start play with them already? Likwise the option to cancel personal unions should also assign monarchs to al interegnem countries - like poland - to avoid them getting insta unions. In which case though, poland should be given the elective monarchy with that options selection.
1. Sampi or whatever its called - the northern most nordic country - starts the game as fetishist instead of catholic - though maybe starting as norse would be fun?
2. some countreis like Westphalia lack their own ideas or starting monarchs, I have had the game crash a few times when trying to play as such countries so maybe assigning them starting monarchs could fix this? ideas aren't as big a deal, just nice
3. Scotland starts of as Lowlands instead of Scotland - might be intentional, might not be
4. Castile starts off with a different flag and spanish ideas instead of castilian ideas - might be intentional or a paradox thing, but thought I'd mention it just in case!...
still no mention on if you fixed mahadeo (i think) being owned by malwa at game start despite being gondi culture and garjat staying an oriya vassal after giving all subjects independence
Possible solutions.
1. Just do it, screw history this is an alt history mod. The subcontinent needs stability.
2. Leave well alone, it's more historical and the instability it causes is a part of the game.
3. Add a national decision that allows them to flip (give the AI a percentage chance of flipping each one)
4. Add a general decision allowing any player to flip them all to Hindu.
