I have tested this and tried to reverse engineer it... no luck. I beleve they patched this exploit behind the scenes. too bad, i was looking forwad to making a ship with self-reparing armour that had an inexhostable supply of steel for the repar. all well, there goes a day of experementation. back to survival

To be honest I hope it gets fixed, but that doesn't mean this is just wasted potential.

Since it's 2077 in SE's timeline we can say something like metalworks and such is improved.
Steel = Iron + Coal. (It's pretty rough, I know.)
We could get Coal from burning trees, and we already have O² production blocks.
The Iron however...
I'm not sure how, but maybe you could create Iron thanks to nuclear fusion.

So if KSH ever plans on adding infinite resources, they already have logic and the near-future theme in their favor.

BTW nice building, The closest i ever came to something like that looked like a reproductive organ, and it wasn't even on purpose...

@bruce - I am confused on how this takes the steel plates out and adds them to assembler then to ingots? Mine will not do that. It just grinds down the steel plates and doesn't use them - in survival.
