1.0 compatible?
Resting Manatee 15 Nov, 2018 @ 10:57pm
Please update! This is the best mod out there for solving your rich soil needs :)
B47ANCE  [author] 6 Nov, 2018 @ 7:09am
@Bleeloobop, I would if I had the time. I'll see if @Gasch has some time to throw at it.
Beeloobop 6 Nov, 2018 @ 6:34am
Any plan for an update?
Hades 18 Oct, 2018 @ 10:08am
bump for 1.0 update
Toast 17 Oct, 2018 @ 2:38pm
1.0 update? :D
Azrael 20 Sep, 2018 @ 4:21am
I got rid of vegetable garden tools and they still refuse to make compost, I can't force them to make it. Should I rearrange load order?
Hades 19 Sep, 2018 @ 11:24am
By the way possible bug... I couldn't make compost in the camp, but I could make it in the butcher's table.
B47ANCE  [author] 19 Sep, 2018 @ 4:39am
@Kohana I'm not aware of any issues, but I'll take a look into it for you some time today.
Azrael 19 Sep, 2018 @ 4:37am
Does this conflict with Vegetable Garden? That is the only other mod that I know of that has anything to do with soil changes in my game and for some reason my colonists cannot/will not make compost or fertilizer at the butcher table even with everything enabled. Am I doing something wrong? I even tried loading this before VG but nothing seemed to work.
Gasch 16 Sep, 2018 @ 12:23pm
@Storm in other words, creating the equivalent of a hydroponics basin out of miracle fertilizer (which would still have 80% less fertility), it would cost you 40 fermented compost (200 meat/veg and 6 days in 2 compost bins) and 12 flake.

I think hydroponics still has a place in that mod.
Gasch 16 Sep, 2018 @ 12:21pm
@Storm hydroponics give 280% fertility. Additionally, miracle fertilizer has a hefty research requirement on top of being expensive per unit (10 fermented compost and 3 flake per).
Hades 16 Sep, 2018 @ 11:47am
I did look at it, and whilst it does look really detailed the thing that I didn't like was the super 200% fertiliser... because it seems to make hydroponics worthless (just build a room with a sunlamp and super fertilser instead).
Gasch 16 Sep, 2018 @ 10:59am
@Storm have you tried Advanced Cultivation? It actually makes the game harder.
B47ANCE  [author] 16 Sep, 2018 @ 7:13am
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy it. :D
Hades 16 Sep, 2018 @ 4:42am
Awesome, I prefer this mod over other mods that have super OP farming and things like super miracle whatever. This mod is more balanced.
B47ANCE  [author] 15 Sep, 2018 @ 6:48pm
@Storm we've updated the mod for B19! Enjoy!
B47ANCE  [author] 15 Sep, 2018 @ 8:25am
@Storm It currently does not work on B19, however there should be an update released later today for B19.
Hades 15 Sep, 2018 @ 1:33am
Does this work with B19?
Gasch 28 May, 2018 @ 3:36pm
@PathogenXD Issue should be fixed with the latest update. Thanks!
PathogenXD 27 May, 2018 @ 3:12pm
Looks like there's an issue with compost and fertilizer not showing up in the resources on the left. This means that any jobs that rely on knowning how much compost/fertilzer you have in your stockpiles won't work correctly
Gasch 27 May, 2018 @ 2:01am
It looks like some recipe defs were not named specifically enough, and could conflict with other mods. This has been fixed.
Gasch 25 May, 2018 @ 3:16pm
@Darkstatus Although this mod should not have any conflicts, it may conflict with rainbeau's fertile fields.
Darkstatus 22 May, 2018 @ 12:54pm
ive checked everything, im thinking its mods incompatibality somwhere, running 65+ mods
Gasch 21 May, 2018 @ 5:38pm
@DarkStatus: Have you checked the 'details' of the job? Is everything disabled in there? Does anything show up? Is the job suspended?

@lapis lazuli: I'm going to be making an 'advanced cultivation' which involves .dll changes (C# code) to implement a compost bin which works like alcohol fermentation. That mod will also include a complete fertility rebalance so that cultivated soil is much better than rich soil. I wanted this mod to be very simple and light-weight, making no changes to vanilla terrain/objects whatsoever. That said, 10% fertility is still an improvement on rich soil and very worth it after you have a decent farm set up. It also allows you to not be dependent on where rich soil is for farming.
B47ANCE  [author] 21 May, 2018 @ 1:14pm
@lapis lazuli No, there is currently no way to get over 150% with this mod.
Zandy man 21 May, 2018 @ 8:32am
My Question is... Is there a way for you make the new ground add to the current ground. I was going to add fertilizer to some rich soil but then I saw that, that would be a waste. I am trying to get above 150%
Zandy man 21 May, 2018 @ 8:30am
@Darkstatus go in to the bill details and make sure that what you have is checked for compost, You need Food to make Compost and Compost to make Fertilizer.
Darkstatus 20 May, 2018 @ 3:00pm
but when i queue up fertilizer it does show that i dont have the materials
Darkstatus 20 May, 2018 @ 2:58pm
ive tried at both the crafting spot and the butcher table, food is less then 3 tiles away, unrestricted, tried requeing the bill and rebuilding the table and no, nothing happens with r-click
Gasch 18 May, 2018 @ 12:16am
@Darkstatus
What workstation are you using to make the compost?
Have you tried removing the bill and posting it again?
Are there required resources within the radius for the job?
There's really no message when you select a pawn and r-click the crafting spot; "resources required" or "pawn is not assigned to this labor"?
Darkstatus 17 May, 2018 @ 7:09pm
i cannot craft compost atm, i can queue up the bill but no one touches it and right clicking to priotize nothing shows
Wiawyr 15 May, 2018 @ 9:14am
No prob, happy to help. I like this mod, so keep on keepin' on!
Gasch 14 May, 2018 @ 10:01pm
@Wiawyr thanks for the bug report! It has been patched in the imminent release!
Wiawyr 14 May, 2018 @ 6:26pm
Thanks, but I should also point out that the "craft 5 fertilizer" bill at the butcher table is producting 25 fertilizer for 5 compost right now. I'm fairly certain that's not intended.
Gasch 14 May, 2018 @ 6:25pm
@Wiawyr Remember to back up your saves before any experimentation!
Gasch 14 May, 2018 @ 6:19pm
@Wiawyr Sorry that your crafting spot bill has corrupted the crafting spot. If you would like to use an older version of the mod compatible with your save, please look here [github.com]. I believe that if you load your save with the new mod, ignore the warnings, remove all of the bills for compost/fertilizer, and save, your save should be updated (untested). Keep in mind also that the new version rebalances all aspects of the mod.

The new recipes should work at the crafting spot. I think there's a conflict with your save due to the old bills being in memory. Please let me know if you need any more assistance! :steamhappy:
B47ANCE  [author] 14 May, 2018 @ 5:06pm
@Wiawyr Thank you for the feedback. I'll let Gasch know.
Wiawyr 14 May, 2018 @ 3:10pm
With the update yesterday (5/13), I can no longer make compost at crafting spots. The crafting spot and lab with the previous crafting bills are corrupted and have to be rebuilt, but even after that the crafting spot bill doesn't work at all. The butcher table bill does work, although why you would work on compost on a butcher table makes no sense.
B47ANCE  [author] 5 May, 2018 @ 10:21am
Thanks! @Omnivore
ReptilianSpacePope 5 May, 2018 @ 9:01am
I like how much work the fertilizer takes to craft. That's exactly why I'm moving away from another mod, into this one. Much more balanced. This feels pretty close to the kind of balance Ludeon might implement, if they did the same. Thumbs up.
B47ANCE  [author] 1 May, 2018 @ 4:10am
@Gasch I'm not currently working on it, no. If you'd like to take over feel free to add me on discord @MadWookie#1005
Gasch 30 Apr, 2018 @ 8:33pm
Anyone working on this? I'll happily take it over. I have some improvements in mind (easiest of which is that fertilizer requires way too much work).
pawelkrzyzak 14 Mar, 2018 @ 3:04pm
How do I make compost????
B47ANCE  [author] 25 Feb, 2018 @ 9:52am
@zatnik If you'd like to work on this mod with me feel free to add me as a friend and I'll be happy to add you as a contrib. I don't really have the time to do this stuff anymore, but I'd be happy to let someone else do it.
zatnik 25 Feb, 2018 @ 8:21am
What's your position on people building on this mod?

I hope you don't mind me altering this for my own use, I wouldn't do anything further without asking.:steamhappy:
zatnik 25 Feb, 2018 @ 7:50am
Hey :)

Cool Mod, I like the balancing and simplicity for this one.

Because you asked for suggestions: I like Ortho's idea below. Compost bins that take rotting bodies etc would also be pretty cool if you ever feel like it would be fun to do. I'd be happy to do art if you wanted.

Edit: It looks like you've already done the art work! Looks pretty good.
Grimble Grumble 14 Feb, 2018 @ 8:31pm
Seems rough that you can't get anything out of this without a druglab. Perhaps the progression would be better if Tilled took Compost instead of fertilizer.
Bisqwit 23 Dec, 2017 @ 5:04am
Oh, I see. Drug lab. But I cannot build drug labs before I research Drug production, even if I have Composting already researched. So confusing.
Bisqwit 23 Dec, 2017 @ 4:47am
Where do I convert compost into fertilizer? These seem to be different things.
