Just finished the extension. This was quite a fun one, also had a nice story, thanks for creating it. I've had some tough spots here and there, but finally made it. Sometimes you have to retrace your steps - or in my case, several times, haha.

comshell allows you to close all shells at the same or overload all of them at the same time, it just saves you a lot of annoying clicking :)

i feel conflicted. you made a robust mod, which i really like!

This was very low on puzzles, and more so decrypting upon decrypting from node to node.
rinse and repeat.
At the end of it it felt more like a chore then gameplay. So, more bridge building then puzzle solving. Sadly i felt like the pay-off was just not that great regarding story and the effort i had to put in.
If you'd ever be up to make a mod again i highly advice you to get a small team together that can help you cook up some puzzles. Like the ip puzzles where you had to discover the blanks. or the list puzzle! I had so much fun with those!

Again, i adore you for making such a good and big mod! hopefully you'll see this as constructive criticism and not as an offence. It was waaay longer then the indicated hours on the mod page(which is a good sign!) :)

Having that said, i'll still gonna play HellSec II in the hope it'll goes a bit different.

Great job. Played in Russian, enjoyed the process. Thanks for not letting the game "die", which was abandoned by the developer.

This is epic awesome script, brand new missions, fun thoughts and cool music. In my mind this is as good as official DLC. The ending is not very surprising to me but good as well. Thank you for making this. Looking forward to new works from you!

i made this 7 years ago and i'm not gonna go back and change a few IP addresses so please suspend your disbelief for just a little bit

As Fen mentioned alot of the IPv4 addresses are not possible. The highest number in an IPv4 address is 255. So the highest POSSIBLE IPv4 address is 255.255.255.255 . Everyone who has a little experience or knowledge about networking is absolutely triggered by this.

Omg i just hacked into the IRC channel and saw that the netmap has been in the drop server forever and i just didnt know cause i didnt check it before the text passed the top of the screen lmaooo. I wish the IRC pinged when there were new messages or smth.

This truly is hell. The sheer number of nodes and the fact that you dont give us the tool to organize the damn node map, at least not yet and I'm a good ways into the mod lol. 10/10 would reccomend.

this was fun, but it got tiring having to squint at the analyze text every single server

essentially every mission is just a mission from the base game or dlc but with different flavor text, but they add more unnecessary steps to make the game seem longer/harder/more engaging...it's not. near the endgame it's all the same: whitelist servers, firewalls, crack 7 ports, download a file, go to 3 different servers to find an ip address for the password, etc etc etc. Just play the base game again, at least it'll be interesting and there's easter eggs to find

hopefully a 3rd hellsec comes around

Spoiler: I just wish you could choose to support Z3R0, kinda like how you can in labyrinths by taking down both planes. Chilling ending.

I dunno if you still respond to comments or not (Ik im late to this game), but the any new .exe that you've created, doesn't work for me at all. Just says "invalid syntax error". I've clicked inside the files and they don't have any binary code like any other .exe file. So i dont think i can progress without the new tools. (Mem dump one etc). Is there a fix or is this just a compatability thing.

oversight, I was 15 when I made this and didn't know how IP addresses worked at the time lmao

So... i just noticed that for some reason some of the IPs are impossible, e.g. the white house mansion IP (atleast for me) was xxx.xxx.267.xxx which... shouldnt be possible as the max for each byte is only 255 and not 267.
Was that intentional or is that just an oversight?

Every time some random joe schmo has both a proxy and a firewall and you gotta dc and open up 5 more shells, take a shot.

I'm having a LOT of fun with this mod but I think maybe proxies could have been thrown around a BIT more sparingly lol
