i personally like how the enemy spawns in right next to me because it keeps me on my feet

This is supposed to be played in multiplayer. First of all you can deactivate the AI in the slots so they don't spawn next to you, plus you can also select different spawn points.

That's weird, I tried it and haven't been able to reproduce that problem. Might be isolated to you, since I haven't heard anything from the other subscribers.
