ball does not spawn
Peverse Rsychology™ 21 Jul, 2014 @ 10:42pm
this was very strange. i kept trying to get the ball but it wouldnt spawn. the cube kept bouncing up and down the grate so the button would never stick either. i did something complicated with the light bridge and timing to make the cube hold but noticed another ball never fell down. eventually i just found out i could use the light bridge and another wall to walk across to the exit. I saw another cube then i fell down a hole. is this how the game was supposed to be beat?

I loved the map, nice use of wheatley lines! I actually still survived after he turned the beam off since I had a hard light bridge under me

Still has the original glitch in the ball room. The ball drops only once and if you don't get it, then the next time you go in - it stays open and doesn't drop another ball....Need to restart whole chamber again.

Unowninator: The bug still exists with light bridges as far as I can tell. There's really not much that can be done, unfortunately, unless Valve decides to patch this particular bug. I did all I could to keep the cube from going through / bouncing at the top.

For the bug with the cube going through grates on the funnel, why not replace the grate with a light bridge?

@ FasT | MwK: thanks (for the tip).
Strange...and fun...and strange ^^ Nice map!!!!

madvtdm: Unfortunately no, due to the bug with excursion funnels and grates - it's "bouncing" at the top, deactivating and reactivating the fizzler.
madvtdm 24 Dec, 2012 @ 4:49am
There seems to be a problem with timing with the fizzler... I wait for it to be deactivated as the cube goes up but even though it is, you hear the sound of going through the fizzler as you enter that room and my portals disappear too... would that be fixable?

The glitch with no ball, cube, and just the light bridge is done this way: You get the light bridge and portal it to that surface near the exit, go through and jump in the funnel then Wheatley (or the makeup of the chamber) removes the funnel, you fall to your death as he says some things about that not being helpful, then it shows the rating screen as if you've finished it correctly. Hope that helps. :]

You could make the grating closer to the portalable surgace on the funnel to avoid the glitch I just described, only to introduce another glitch (cube through grating). Can the mapmaker ever win that one :P

I was able to bypass the need for the middle "button" (which I thought I could safely stand on...silly me :P). Making a flip panel on the floor as opposed to a laserfield would fix this (and a portalable wall to avoid getting stranded).

Inspirata: I knew about the ball dropper, unfortunately, there's not much I can do to fix it, but how did you bypass a part of the test?
The Sojourner 7 Oct, 2012 @ 2:51am
I was also able to glitch out the ball dropper, therby making the test impossible to solve. I was also able to bypass a part of the test.

Powerpunchclan: Haha, nice route. The first glitch was due to a trigger_catapult that acted strangely; if I rerelease I'll do two things: fix the trigger_catapult and add a player clip over the end door that only opens after a certain amount of time to annoy speedrunners :P

awesome chamber i found a little glitch route though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMG9Kp984XU&feature=youtu.be anyway awesome map

Problem with this level is how finnicky the top gate is in the second test, and how it turns on and off rapidly, shorting out the ball dropper. Aside from that, it'd be nice to have an indication that the cube dropper is powered by that one pedestal button, because it wasn't immediately obvious.

Dridri: I'd like to see this bug - can you record it?
dridri 4 Sep, 2012 @ 5:11pm
There is a hack for this map, not with "noclip" but without using the "ball" or "reversing the tractor beam", only using the light bridge
Le Petit Mort 4 Sep, 2012 @ 1:54pm
Pros:
• Hammer level;
• Great new mechanic appears once more;
• Fantastic theming & geometry;
• Use of Portal 2 Campaign content's actually pretty good;
• Thanks to careful planning (and a bridge), map didn't get the 'drop' on me;

Cons:
• Still uses Portal 2 Campaign content;

This was a pretty good puzzle. I'm with Genosis, i don't generally like timed puzzles. it took me a long time to figure out that the button provided power to the rest of the circuit. This timed puzzle was ok, because it still was logic based and not reflex based.

Thanks for sharing,
Look 5/5 Dificulty 4/5 fun 4/5

Well, this one was harder X) Don't really like timed puzzles, but I got the idea... Nice chamber and evil ending XD

Ugh, Wheahtly is just crazy evil ...
