I created and tested it on Juventus because when I became a coach the team had very weak side defenders, I had good central defenders and a good midfield.

In theory it should work even with weak teams ... the important thing is that you have a good midfield and attack because the team with only 3 defenders suffers goals so to win you must always score a goal more!

Tested on lower tier teams than Juventus with succes? :)
