@bearhiderug Not without the welding plate mod as well. Otherwise it would be unreasonably hard/impossible to completely merge ships.

All this just because Keen doesn't wanna add a connector with merge block functionality, aka temporarily fusing the grids AND allow conveyor connectivity.

So I tried this again recently and regular blocks don't unmerge...Am I missing something or has it broken?

I can imagine my cpu having trouble if I try to merge huge sections together, but I'm thinking of how the combination of hinges and improved block collision allow for clean vanilla doors, but they aren't airtight. With this and a smaller merge block you could make any door airtight.

Since every purchaser of this game all funding the development of Space Engineers (it's excatly what early access is), These kind of feature should be in the game by default, Keen Software House developers are incompetent, greedy and lazy. The community members has done more for this game than the game developers ever have.

The mod does not seem to work anymore, I'd love to use this for my ships because It's kind of annoying without it.

Hey there, it just seems to work like a normal merge block. Am I doing it wrong? It doesn't seem to add a block so I assumed it changed the vanilla one. I am trying to do saucer separation on an ent-d but when i turn off the two blocks in the neck, they just go red and the neck doesnt reseparate

whenever i try to load in my game. it gets stuck on the loading screen after the spinning cogs disappear. but it loads up just fine when i remove this mod from the list.

Have you tested with small-grid merge blocks?
Seems like the dictionary key-name for small-grid is 'MergeBlock02' and not 'detector_merge_1'. At least thats what I get when printing out the `dict.Keys` within OtherMerge get method.

I don't know how feasible it is, but could this mod also rename the grids to their original names when they seperate? I suspect it might be harder (if not currently impossible) as not even Programmable blocks can do it.

I've been lamenting about this problem for months as i build my ship. thinking 'how am i gonna get it to seperate properly without going overboard with the design.' And this mod gives me the perfect solution. Thank you soooo much.
P.S. the ship i'm building is 1:1 scale Galaxy class ship, ST-TNG.
P.S.S. Also, all of the other shipbuilders out there who have had the same kind of trouble as i will More then likely be taking great advantage of this mod.

Why dont you just use offset force walls to stop depressurisation.

Check box will be there, it just requires network syncing. Unfortunately I don't have enuff time.

This sounds like a really cool concept. Does it properly clean up it's junk data if you repeatedly dock different things together or remove merge blocks?
