works for dwarven too?
snorriok 8 Oct, 2022 @ 10:34pm
Does it still work?
Demonlord09 12 Aug, 2018 @ 6:01pm
You do beautiful work good sir. This is the only smelting mod I've used for several years now.
<Havok> Marshie 24 Dec, 2016 @ 2:27pm
Fantastic Mod
Sexyslimjim 6 Jul, 2015 @ 12:54pm
does this work for stalhrim

This is really good, but I feel like the items you get back from smelting should be more around 80%. You wouldn't lose half the steel from smelting a shield.
Combatkat 7 Sep, 2014 @ 9:43am
Another Excellent mod well conceived and balanced saves a lot of time too. Thanks
Kimber 3 Sep, 2014 @ 1:42pm
Daedric weapons and armour -- Ebony ingots and Daedra Hearts???
LordXenophon 2 Sep, 2014 @ 4:55pm
Is there a check to stop me from smelting enchanted weapons. The other smelting mod (the one for clutter) includes my Axe of Horror for smelting.
powerdemon 2 Aug, 2014 @ 10:32am
Awesome. This is my favorite verrsion of the smelting mods.
Observe  [author] 2 Aug, 2014 @ 7:24am
FYI: I'll be updating this mod to cover missing items sometime "soon".

Thanks
powerdemon 1 Aug, 2014 @ 9:08pm
Elven armor seems to be unable to be smelted. Bug or intentional?
IAintDeadYet 15 Jul, 2014 @ 11:54pm
Very neat, makes smithing a feasible craft. As other people have said, silver weapons and elven light armor aren't included, but this isn't a dealbreaker for me at least
Coolmannico 7 Apr, 2014 @ 7:37pm
Really great mod. However it doesn't work on silver weapons? Is that intentional or is this a bug?
repaeR 3 Feb, 2014 @ 1:14pm
Can't convert the "upgraded" weapon into ingots...i have a upgraded scimitar and i can't convert it into steel ingot...It would be awesome if you add that feature. Thanks
buttons 31 Jan, 2014 @ 1:43pm
I love this because I am horrible at finding ore veins one time I got so desperate I stole all the ingots at the solitude blacksmith.
Zoakith 11 Jan, 2014 @ 8:14pm
it will not let you smelt down Elven Light varities Example Elven Light Armor usually worn by Thalmor elves just wanted to let you know
Observe  [author] 11 Jan, 2014 @ 10:14am
No the ingots from stolen items will not result in stolen ingots.
Nemoy 11 Jan, 2014 @ 12:38am
One question. I am a thief come to Skyrim, and I lack a fence. I have stolen some armor and weapons recently, and, as I can't sell any of my stolen goods, would the Ingots be marked as stolen or not?

Scaled bracers are giving me Orichalum ingots rather than Corundum. Not a huge issue, since I don't find that many scaled bracers anyway, but it's just kind of wierd.
ArcticCheetah 16 Sep, 2013 @ 4:23pm
glad to hear you are considering updating this mod :)
Chicken Charmer 8 Sep, 2013 @ 5:01pm
just YES
morat 5 Sep, 2013 @ 10:24pm
Finally a use for all the BS you get from killing bandits, Imperial Soldiers, and everyone else.
RandomMajin 10 Aug, 2013 @ 11:43pm
For some reason while I have this on I can't forge dragon stuff. I have the perk bought, and every other mod I have was turned off while testing this. Any ideas?
Observe  [author] 26 Jul, 2013 @ 5:15pm
It shouldn't matter really. There are no scripts associated, and no vanilla items are affected. As such, this mod shouldn't interfere or be incompatible with any others, and I've not heard anyone mention issues with it in the long time it has been available and used by many.
Seth 26 Jul, 2013 @ 4:43pm
Where should this be in the mod load order about?
Snoopy 25 Jul, 2013 @ 10:27pm
This will help with my smithing thanks man
Observe  [author] 23 Jul, 2013 @ 6:59am
@Apocalyptic: Yes, I agree leather should be done at tanning rack - which is the reason I didn't include leather with this mod in the first place.

Thanks
randalljsmith2007 23 Jul, 2013 @ 6:23am
i always wished i could do that in the original game so thank you
Yourbestfiend 21 Jul, 2013 @ 9:21pm
You should have to do that in the tanning rack (Just my thought on the last comment.)
Observe  [author] 18 Jul, 2013 @ 6:30pm
I am presently considering updating this mod in near future, and leather is one of the resources I will possibly add.

Thanks
Parmak 18 Jul, 2013 @ 5:24pm
Maybe try to add it so you can revert Leather and Hide items into leather and leather strips, I find that hunting for leather can be annoying at times if you are in need of a quick bit of leather for crafting especially in the Bags and Pouches mod that requires tons of leather to make stuff. Just a suggestion, you could also have it so you can do that at tanning racks or workbenches to make it more believable.
Cosmic_Umbra 15 Jul, 2013 @ 7:55pm
THANK U, FINALLY SOME COMMON SENSE. Awesome mod
Draining Anal 15 Jul, 2013 @ 4:09pm
This will be very usefull and a much easier experience of getting my Smithing up, great job and I hope to see maybe more updates or new mods that you come up with.
Hurkaleez 14 Jul, 2013 @ 11:13pm
Awesome mod, ty for the work you put into this. IF you do decide to update it it is possible to add this, maybe make it so a favorited item is ignored for smelting. That way I do not accidentally melt my favorite piece of crafted gear.
76561198090156059 12 Jul, 2013 @ 11:48pm
Thanks! Good job!
TheMadCat 12 Jul, 2013 @ 2:26pm
"You cannot convert an item if you are wearing it." finally there mod that can do thise. Thank you!
JimmyBeans 11 Jul, 2013 @ 11:11am
great mod idea
Observe  [author] 10 Jul, 2013 @ 8:11pm
Thanks Adabar. Updating this mod has been on my list of things to do for some time. Likely I'll be getting around to it sooner rather than later.

Thanks
StrikeEagle 10 Jul, 2013 @ 7:46pm
Love this mod! Would certainly love to see some improvements and new additions and things! Not sure where to begin... But this is certainly my most-used mod... so any update would just be incredible! Thanks for the work that went into this
Observe  [author] 6 Jul, 2013 @ 11:11am
Not all materials because the idea is you are smelting the items for scrap metals.

Thanks
Plan C 6 Jul, 2013 @ 10:22am
do i get back all materials used for creating the weapon?
Don Parmesan 16 Jun, 2013 @ 10:04am
good thing i can gets tons of iron and steel from looting bandit bases
Observe  [author] 14 Jun, 2013 @ 11:42am
Hi all. Thanks for your feedback. Many of you have presented great ideas for extending this little mod. However, due to other priorities (besides Skyrim), it may be some time before I release a new version. Eventually I'll probably revisit this mod with consideration to expanding it. Thanks
Raz Almighty 12 Jun, 2013 @ 1:55pm
Any chance of earnign experience for Smithing skill while breaking these down?
Gandalf The Digital 11 Jun, 2013 @ 5:08pm
love this thanks alot its very easy on the coin
TheBigBahuga 8 Jun, 2013 @ 2:09am
May I suggest creating a "tab" system for the Smelter? Such as one like the Forge where you choose Iron for Iron items and Steel for Steel items. Just seems to clear up all the clutter when you have a lot of items with you.
CJOaNeoDO 18 May, 2013 @ 6:06pm
Yeah, looking to smelt silver also!
Thx in advance if your leaning that way!
Skute 15 May, 2013 @ 5:42am
Silver ingots for silver weapons please.
