I think it's a great first item and it fits pretty well with the Dota 2 art style. In my opinion you should add an AO map as if you look at phantom lancer's original textures he has a darkened edge along the trim of his armor. Also your wrapping should be made of the same leather material phantom lancer already uses for his belt straps. Just color pick it out of photoshop.
I hope some of that helps you out man!

About the normal map, it has one really intense, where you see the stitches of the bandages but its hard to see, need to make more test.
