Nice attempt but this mod completely breaks balance. Like, laughably so. You need to basically scale the mod back by like, 3 times to fix it.

I like that there are a lot more goody huts, but the balance feels broken with all of the stuff you get right at the start.

@InCrt, so what happened next? I'm dying to know. That's a really cool thing to have happen in a {LINK REMOVED} a civilization's history. Did anybody get to use the Vampire Castle? Did you and Suleiman have tea and scones and become best friends and play tennis together at the country club for a year before you caught him cheating on his wife and you were like, "Suli, baby, naw, that ain't cool, I can't play doubles with you anymore." I warned you about him, totally unreliable. So, come on, man, spill the beans.

Just had a pretty weird thing happen, surely it is a bug. I grabbed a village with my scout and it spawned a vampire castle on my capital's border while also discovering a new civilization (Suleiman). I can't even use the castle's yields tho.

Not sure if it's connect to this mod or not but since it happens when I grab a tribal village, it might be?

I avoided the issue by not picking any tribal village that specific turn. It was turn 4 iirc.

Any idea what's causing it?

After a couple hours turning certain mods on and off, my friend and I finally disovered that THIS mod is causing desyncs every single turn. If you are having that issue, where everytime you end turn, whoever is NOT the host desyncs, turn this mod off and try playing again and see if that fixes your desync issue. Love this mod so much. Sad to have to turn it off, but glad to have discovered the issue so we can play without constant desyncs.

Bug? Started a new game with this mod on. Was rewarded a trader from a hut before having the civic. I was able to use the trader when i unlocked trading. 10 turns later, game crashes instantly as a barbarian scout pillaged the trader.

Sailor Cat: sorry about the EXTREMELY long delay … the issue was a known bug in that update, which required the game to be deleted and reinstalled to work properly. Had nothing to do with GGH 😃

Since the latest CIV update (late April 2021), I cannot start new games with this mod enabled, but since I don't see anyone else mentioning this it doesn't seem to be widespread. What should I look for (disabled all mods already, leaving only GGH and game still will not run)?

Just chiming in to say that compatibility with Wondrous Goody Huts should continue to be a non-issue since they don't directly interact. This fine mod tunes the existing Tribal Villages, while Wondrous adds a new category to the pool. :ojseagull:

i only have one mod beside goody huts , yet not another map pack , and that one doesnt have any goody huts changes as far as i can see. however if remove all scout or XP entries from your mod i still get them. if i add other rewards they also show up but i dont understand why the scout or the XP comes. i havent seen the heal reward though

My testing confirms that this mod is fully functioning, successfully modifying the Civ database as intended. But before I tested, I disabled all other mods. I suspect that the trouble anyone is having is due to incompatibility between mods, or as Kaanboztepe suggests, other DLC/mods may be including my XML code so be sure to disable my mod.

the goodyhuts xml is available in some DLCs too so it overwrites and brings back whatever the original settings were

Thanks for reporting the issues. This mod should only be broken if changes were made to certain database tables. I will investigate and report my findings later this week, along with uploading a new version with fixes.

Does this work with the latest update for the Frontier Pass as well as with GS & RF?

Put the UI mod on to highlight goodie huts and this would make finding them so simple.

@MarsEco here's what I do:
-ramp up the difficulty maybe one or ten levels
-Save the governor upgrades (i forgot what they're called) from the secret societies until you have a city, pick magnus, unlock the free settlers through him, and start cranking out a million settlers.

A little off-topic but a good way to keep it fun when the societies are so damn easy to unlock

@deeper purple -- I feel your pain. LOL. I have often considered breaking this mod into 2. One would merely add more Goody Huts, and the other would have all the other tweaks and fixes. But ultimately I feel that might create confusion and reduce the popularity of both. Perhaps my ego is getting in the way. :) At the end of the day, if you want to reduce the amount of huts, then just edit the SQL file directly in the Steam install location for the mod. Here is where mine is located (I installed on the D: drive, yours is probably on the C: drive and the last two numerical folders will differ).
