i have tried to change the ball mass from 100kg up and down to see if i could somehow get it to reach the hole, ( didint work ) and as its all timing blocks non of the rest will work in time. and the end went off and crashed my game nice.

Huh, bummer, well at least the video is there
Packman_r97 24 Feb, 2020 @ 5:36pm
dosnt work. after update, the 1st ball dosnt make it in, and the rest of the balls arent spawned in. im super sad

Don't think I'd ever make something like that myself, but sure is entertaining to watch.

Incredible! Such a fun idea!

I can't even make a ship without it randomly exploding or jumping hundreds of billions of kms away on the current DS build LOL.
Hugh Manatee 9 Jul, 2017 @ 8:52am
Just had an idea after I posted. Well, two actually. One would involve making a trap that ends at the beginning. As the ball returned, it would stand the dominoes that had fallen, and other repairs.etc. The ball arrives at the start, ready to go again. The other would be a circular structure, effectively making it perpetual, since it would go around and around, but never stop. If that tempts you and you're as tenacious as I am to finish something I start or face a challenge, you'll probably be cursing my name at some point. Excellent work bro. Thanks!

It's not very big and it's not elaborate enough. Needs bling. It's not like I have high expectations and I'm hard to please. It's more that I'm totally messing with you. Actually, that is impressive. It's Minecraft meets the old board game, Mousetrap. All it was missing was the cage that drops down and traps the mouse. One major problem though. No mice in Minecraft. Travesty! We should petition for mice. Big, gnarly, dirty, smelly alien mice.
Crazy-Simon 9 Jul, 2017 @ 4:04am
wow its amazing
Some Random Dude 8 Jul, 2017 @ 6:33pm

The ball may flip a switch, converting kinetic energy (ball) to rotational kinetic (switch) to electrical (as the circuit is closed). I realize that this is impossible in SE as there are no switches in this came that operate in this mannor. The closest that we could possibly get to this sort of action is having the ball collide with an arm attached to a rotor that has no power and zero brake torque (so there is minimal resistance) and having that arm fall to collode with another element. This could cause block damage, but would make the design a true RGM. Based on the game's current physics engine, im not sure something like this can be made without catostrophic results.

All in all, I love this build. It really demonstrates how the games physics can be used in a mechanical mannor. But I would not call it a Rube Goldburg Machine.
monk2160 2 Jul, 2017 @ 10:06pm
I like this creation. The issue that I have with it is that is not a true rube goldburg machine. The reason why is the system's use of sensors. When a ball trips a sensor, the ball stops, and does not transfer energy to the next stage without the assistance from an external energy source, like a rotor arm powered by a reactor. In a true RGM, a part must physically transfer its energy from itself to another part. Using a non-contact sensor like the "Sensor" in SE makes this physical transfer of energy impossible. An example of a physical transfer of energy could be as follows.
