For anyone wondering, the ones which don't work are: Synthetics, Raptor, and Holosphere. I haven't went through a full playthrough yet so it may crash mid game but, for now the rest don't fail instantly on start.

Nothing. The update thing is just something in a text file the modders change.

I could develop a mod for version 1.0 of Stellaris and mark is as up-to-date, or develop a mod for 2.2 and mark it as outdated for 1.0.

Just so Everyone that doesn't know does, Silfae is working for Paradox, so big chance that these portraits aren't gonna get updated, luckily Paradox doesn't seem to want to change how custom species and empires are created like they did with Utopia.

I apologize for the stupid question, but what exactly makes this mod not compatible with the new version of the game and does not work? Unfortunately, the author will not come back to update this, so I would like to know if I can fix it myself or rather something from the upper league.

FYI. Most of these portraits work just fine in 2.1, but they break the game in the v2.2 Megacorp expansion. At least the synthetics + raptor ones do, not sure about the rest.

Honestly I am so excited for you, getting hired by Paradox, but will these see an update? I am only asking becuase the alternatives are putting them into the base game or letting the mods fall into obscurity and never be seen again.

After testing a little I found that your mod was causing the infinite pop up bug, I will check if it is one in particular(I have suscribed to all), since I'm playing with others mods I can't be sure if it's some failure caused by your mod itself or some interaction with some other mod.


Apart from that I just come to say that your work is impressive, same or even better quality than the stellaris itself.

Not quite sure if this has been answered before but I would love to know if when dealing with your mods that add custom ships: can they be used with ISB? I know most of the mods say they're compatible with anything but I just want to confirm.

The new humanoid portraits *really* need a dimorphism update. Good god they dropped the ball on that shit. I hope someday you have the time to work on them, you did great work so far, and my favorite by far is the Aquilese.

@swift paw & @Just Monika I've tested all but "The Hidden Eye" and "Animated Synthetic Expanded" and they are all compatible. The portraits are compatible to almost every update

I am really busy in this period, it might be a while since I run through the mods to check them. I would imagine though that most of them are still compatible with the new version.

Love all of these animated portrait mods, but anyone else having trouble with them spawning? I created custom empires and clicked the force spawn button, but they never do :(

They feel a bit too narrative and focused; traits and portraits that can fit other empires would be nice too. The Synthetic and Silicoid ones are by far the best imo.

Hey Silfae, I don't know if you take requests at all. But, I absolutely love your work and have most if not all of them. I'm a big fan of your Hollow and the Hidden Eye portratis. But anyway, I was wondering if you could possibly do an Elder Thing (From H.P. Lovecraft's work) Or honestly anything lovecraftian and tentacled. Either way, Your work is what I think is one of the best in the Stellaris modding community.

Because you cannot add portraits to the vanilla categories without overriding the vanilla file. If you do that, every portrait mod is incompatible with each other.

@silfae you mate did the best job on this game, have you considered talking with other modders and making a big overhaul mod for people to enjoy? Like in HoI4 we have many examples. Thnx love you mods. Paradox should approach and pay you to put these mods in the game for free like damn an IMPRESSIVE JOB well done.

Unfortunately I'm not capable of creating new meshes/animations. I only create and mount new textures on the vanilla ones and set up the code, there's not much to see. You should be able to understand the process by simply looking inside my mods.

You go to your game library, right-click on Stellaris, go to the Beta tab and select the 1.8.1 beta.

If it's updated to 1.8.1 then it's likely another outdated trait-based mod that is causing the issue. My mods alone should work fine with the beta.
